Wii-U (Gauging Interest In)

Seems like it's slated to come out in November and at a pretty reasonable price, to boot.

Is anyone interested?

Myself, I'm not sure yet.

It's release titles look decent, but I'm afraid about Nintendo goofing it up again like they goofed with the Wii.

Seriously? After a;; the horrendous games released on the Wii, it's going to take more than another gimmick to have me even look in Nintendo's direction.

Well, the next game in the Monster Hunter series is coming out for the Wii-U so that's always nice. And I haven't played a Mario game in forever, and I hope that they can get the Zelda franchise back on track. I played a little bit of Skyward Sword, but I didn't like it. There were some positives, sure, but I didn't think it was of Zelda quality.

But I agree, yes, Nintendo needs to do a lot better than they did on the Wii with this one.

I'm interested in it, but I want to see some awesome stuff done with Zelda first before I decide to buy it.

This zombie game looks interesting as well.

Maybe after I beat Skyrim, Dark Souls DLC, all the PS+ games I haven't gotten to yet........

Wait, never mind. My vita will be rocking little big planet 2 as a controller already since it does that as of awhile ago

Yeah I'm interested, I just have to save up money. Pikmin 3 cannot be ignored by me, and it cannot ignore me. Plus I was a huge fan of the Wii so I don't see why not.

Not at all. That could cahnge, but the wii has got me gunshy (total waste of 250 dollars, I play the gamecube more often) and the wii u has yet to impress me.

Bayonetta 2 is coming out for it. Just thought I would mention that.

I love Nintendo but launch line up isn't that appealing to me. Definitely will consider it when some more games for the hardcore gamers are announced such as a new Zelda or how bout a new Star Fox that would be nice.

Well, bayonetta will almost definetly get released on the other platforms. Personally, I think it's stupid paying 350$ for a console thats barely more powerful than the PS3/xbox 360, when the next gen is so close. Also Nintendo can shove their gimmicks where the sun don't shine.

I like bayonetta, but I'm not buying a console for it. Nintendo lost my loyalty, its not looking to come back any time soon either.

I agree with you 2, Wade/Forum, I'm just saying that this time around I may be open to allow Nintendo to make amends for their past mistakes.

I'm still very leery-eyed :suspect: at whatever they're selling, but I am a little hopeful that they may have set themselves right again. As I said, I probably won't be getting it at launch, I'll wait and see, and then judge whether or not it's worth my money. If what I see doesn't impress me, then I sure as heck won't be buying it, if what I see still leaves me unsure, I probably won't buy it, but if I really like what I see I may give them another chance.

I'm not very excited for it at all. I'm just tired of gimmicks. I don't like Kinect, I don't like PS Move, and the only games I really liked on the Wii were the ones that didn't use much of the motion control, if any. All these gaming companies keep on trying to make these fancy gimmicks yet they don't seem to understand that just about everyone is perfectly happy using a controller, and probably prefers it over flailing their arms around. Gimmicks can have their moments, but I don't think I got enough use out of my Wii to justify buying a Wii-U :|

I won't drop 300 bucks on it anytime soon, if it does manage to get a really good library of games going in the next year or so i might be interested. It reminds me a lot of the dreamcast, it will probably have good games but i just don't see it lasting once the next big consoles come out.


I'm actually surprised more people aren't making a bigger deal out of ninja gaiden 3, yes i know it sucked. It appears like they pretty much remade the game into what we all expected it to be in the first place though. Also platinum games teaming up with nintendo is pretty awesome, i can see them making some great games for the console.
