Wouldn't it be great if you could stack Calamity Rings!

Now that would be a good starter for a challenge run if ever there were one!

Dusk Crown Ring halves HP. Basically the same effect.

If you could, by NG++ you would probably be one shot by everything even at max HP.

I completely forgot about the Dusk Crown Ring.

How's this for a NG+ challenge run?

A naked SL3 Sorcerer, no sorceries/miracles/pyromancies, starting weapon only (Dagger) upgraded to a +5 Raw (to prove I'm not a total sadist ), Cracked Round Shield only, no ranged weapons (inc. all throwing items), with a Calamity Ring/Dusk Crown Ring combo.

4kings. You just wouldn't kill them fast enough to beat NG+.

You might stand a chance if you could find a way to bring each Kings health down to the point where one hit would kill it, but this would require you to evade their AoE attacks, which is bloody hard at the best of times. Still I'd be prepared to give it a go!

Lawl why the shield?You will get OS'd anyway if you block,at least take a 100% phy. Reduction shield or just parry with your hands like a baws.

The answer is simple, it's for us mere mortals who haven't got the cahoonas to venture into the lands of Lordran without having something to hide behind. Blocking wise it well may be as useless as anything can be, but morale wise I can guarantee it'll end being a bit of a godsend when the brown stuff starts to hit the whirling blades!

The only useful thing about the Calamity Ring, as far as I can tell, is that it allows temporary challenges. You can put it on your normal character, and if you stack Dusk's ring you suddenly have a temporary challenge character.

I think the only real use it'll get is for its little light though, so people can advertise that they're wearing it.
