So Pursuers sets off karmic justice... Are we sure these new spells don't do physical damage? Maybe they go through the magic defense stat but the game treats it as a physical hit.

I blocked Dark Magic with a 100% Phys Res shield and still took Damage

Yes, but it's been "proven" that it is in fact magic damage. Also, a cast of crystal homing soul mass just set it off. I think they changed kj in the patch.

I can guarantee you kj was triggered before the patch by any damage. The issue was getting hit fast enough to blast your opponent.

Well, This guy last night spammed a 2 handed claymore at me and set it off. And another guy hit me a bunch with a katana, and dove backwards. Then I chased after him and he hit me and set it off. So there was the first 4 or 5 hits, and about a 5 second pause between the second to last hit and the one that set it off O_o I really think they did something to it...

That sounds like the gauge was modified. Used to disappear almost immediately. Sweet!

I did some effective tests in undead parish before the dlc. Might be time to test again. You hit the nail on the head of why I thought it was useful though. It's unpopularity meant very few people had a clue of when it would asplode so most opponents back off
