So is it true that the chained prisoner in the dlc drops the chain armor set, same as the one bought from the male undead merchant in undead burg?

Oh thats a relief. I need the chained set bad for my pvp build and killed the merchant way back for the uchigatana. Glad I can still get it on my first playthrough.

i thought mimic is only +10% Souls and has nothing to do with Item Discovery

yeah the mimic head does boost item discovery but 410 is the max your allowed, so you might use the mimic head to free up a ring slot when farming or something....
