Missed this elevator before defeating artorias. It's across Fromm the arena , not the one you come up ( next to the stairs to kalameet) , but is to the right of that. How and where do I activate this one?

It's a shortcut from the middle of the next area (chasm of the abyss), you must trigger the elevator down there.

You sure? Been down there numerous times and the only elevator I activated from there was the one in oocalile township that gets you back down just before the hoard and 2 dark mages. Been there with hosts and nobody activates any elevator but that one.

To get to that elevator, you must stay left after you walk down this narrow path with sharp stones sticking out of it. You will end up falling through the floor, which is an illusiory wall, and you must follow the spirit of Alvina to find the elevator. Doing this also leads you to a secret door that allows you to free Sif.
