Re: Worth getting Vanquish?
My friend brought it over once. I didn't really enjoy it much, though he did. I would say it's a one time experience, nothing big, though still a fun experience the first time around. It does of course depend on your taste.

Re: Worth getting Vanquish?
Some questions:
-How is the Melee? Are there executions? (Me love executions)
-Is the controlls fine? Do you learn them quickly?
-How long is the game? The price im getting it for is pretty cheap but i still wanna know.
-Is the characters likeable?

Re: Worth getting Vanquish?
I never managed to complete the whole game, though we got far. I believe there was something similar to executions, however, not specifically executions. Controls are fine, and the gameplay is great and interesting, you get guided through the controls pretty easily, though he and i just experimented and found things out quickly. The characters... I suppose the main character is likeable, i just don't feel i got to emotionally connected with him as some characters. Melee is cool, in fact i used it quite a lot. And i believe i forgot to, but the game seems pretty normal length. Kind of like a regular game, could be completed in perhaps a day or two. If the price is cheap, then sure, why not get it? If you could borrow or rent it, that would be preferrable though.

I meant rent from a gaming store that rents games, if one were to be in your area.

Re: Worth getting Vanquish?
I bought the game a while back and wasn't too disappointed with my purchase. It's a rather short game, I'd say ranging from 5-9 hours depending on the difficulty you choose, but the combat is fast paced and the controls are really tight. As far as characters go, they're not UNlikeable, but you won't really build up a major emotional attachment to any of them. I don't remember using melee too often, but it's just not really my style when it comes to this kind of game

Re: Worth getting Vanquish?
You get a super powered punch that overheats your suit. Its good but situational.
COntrols are easy to grasp.
The game isnt long but you're looking at it wrong. Vanquish is about replaying it to get a higher score.
You're asking about story? Really? In a game where you are a soldier in a super powered mech suit fighting giant mechs you are worried about the story?!

Re: Worth getting Vanquish?
Loved vanquish , it's my most played game of this generation along with Split Second and Dark Souls.
The depth of the game only opens up when you are really into it. Dash cancel is a trick that is not known to everyone which allows you to move faster then regular roll, with more invincibility frames while NOT overheating your suit. It's also almost mandatory for challenge 6 and god hard mode.
Plus , pressing the melee button when aiming with the HMG launches you up in to the air with a summersault melee into slowmotion aim mode , which is really usefull aside from the regular roll-into slowmotion.

Yes, you should get it. It has great gameplay, a fairly good story and great action, as well as good voice acting. Completely worth getting, and in my list of faves, on par with Binary Domain (Which was awesome.)

watching the MGR Revengeance footage instantly brought me back to the Vanquish feeling, I hope it'll live up to expectations.

Re: Worth getting Vanquish?
Vanquish is a pretty fun game. Short but sweet and super fast paced (much like zone of the Enders) if its 20 then hells yes.
Also, just so we can get this out of the way. The main character is an Ex-quarter back, put into a powered armor and put in a satellite to shot, punch, and kick Russian robots in slo-mo. One of the most American games to be made in Japan, like Metal Wolf Chaos
