It's exactly like the militia variant, except it does 31.6 damage instead of 31.

Re: EVE DUST 514
Guys question. I see a number (2x) besides skills. What does it mean? And if I buy another skill of the same one I've bought (ie. Light weapon sharpshooter), does it stack or do I waste the money???

The number means how much it costs compared to a skill with a 1X. 2x means it costs twice as much and so on. I don't think you can purchase a skillbook twice. After the first purchase, it should only give you the option to upgrade it. It will cost more SP than the first time, but it won't cost ISK.
1x's start at about 6,000 if I remember right.
2x's would start at about 12,000
3x's should cost 1800
That's all for level 1, not sure what the multiplier is for the higher levels.

I'll have to check it again. I know I've gotten that message before , but I forgot what causes it to appear.
Edit: Where are you purchasing the skill btw?

Rofl, my friend just sent me this right now XD
http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Dust_514:_Skill_Points
You spend skill points to level up a skill, not skill books. The books are there so that you can "learn" the skill before spending points into it. So if it says that you have already learned it, you don't need to buy the book.

Re: EVE DUST 514
Well yeah, you have to buy it before you can upgrade it. If you buy it from the weapon market though, it will just give you the option to upgrade the skill directly instead of trying to sell you the skill book again. I think...
It does the same thing in the skill menu.
But I do remember almost buying the same skillbook multiple times, I'm not sure what I was doing though.

Re: EVE DUST 514
H'mmm, Id suggest purchasing the skills directly from the weapon section of the market. You could also purchase skills directly from the skill menu, without going into the market, just go to where it says "all skills". It's a lot less time consuming.

What model of dropship should my Amarr guy fly? Caldari or Gallante? What's up with the lore??? My laser rifle has an Amarr symbol so obviously they're badass.

After playing around with different characters and starting classes, I've decided to delete all of them and start from scratch.

What I hate is how they kill me from afar in 3 seconds with the rifle. I've bought a new assault dropsuit. I'm using a laser rifle and a submachine gun. I have to equip a CPU upgrade and been thinking about using armor repair since the laser works better from afar. I almost always survive but having damaged armor is what kills me. Drop uplinks is the most useful equipment in game. Good points flow and awesome team assistance.

Re: EVE DUST 514
get a type 2 caldari drop suit and slap a basic armor repairer on or skill up for the compact nano hive.
you're not a heavy, don't build like one. you want to take a few hits and take cover, let the logis and other assaults focus on armor repping the heavy- not you.
unless you are a heavy then nvm? shield tank heavys are super fast tho...

Re: EVE DUST 514
yeah then stack the bejesus out of shields. every high power slot needs to be the best shield extender you can fit.
if youre having fitting issues get rid of the sidearm and grenades. dont give up lowslots.
and yeah armor plate/armor rep works wonders.

There are skills that increases armor, shield, and shield regen rate that you can invest if you want.

One of my high modules is a light weapon damage modifier (increases damage by 5% of my rifle). Good or bad???

Re: EVE DUST 514
good to use for someone who's not going to get hit like a sniper or someone with HEAVY armor and people repping him/her willing to give up some hp.
as an assault you always want more hp. especially shields of all things, it lets you be self sufficient.
with enough shields, yeah you'll still die to most hmg's or any other counters at certain ranges, but you can take a beating, hide and regenerate to full again in a short time.
if you're a heavy you can outgun most people yes, but what happens after that? they have no equipment, their armor repairs at less than 10hps, they're reliant on repairs... unless theyre shield tanked, but then they can't tank with logi reps.
the assault class is all about support damage, taking a few hits and retreating to cover to come back out again. you can beat almost every other class if you play it smart, use cover effectivley and whittle them down... you also can play the role of a logistic player with the equipment, either for yourself or others.. because of that they're great when they're with others but can also split off on their own or without specialized players. they can be everywhere when they need to be basically.
in a nutshell, don't play it like call of duty because the assault can't handle that, but know where you need to be and how to deal with it.

Re: EVE DUST 514
This might seem a little obvious but.... use teamwork.
Don't run off by yourself, you're not Rambo. You'll just run into people who are using teamwork. There's a reason there's multiple classes, your supposed to support each other. Most of my team losses come from everybody just going of on their own. Sometimes I just want to slap every single one of my teammates
Kill Assists suck, dying sucks more.

Re: EVE DUST 514
I agree,we just lost because the other team regrouped themselves while we weren't.
I eventually had to go Rambo to protect bases but even if I take 3/4 guys down with me,it ain't enough...

Re: EVE DUST 514
There's nothing worse than getting swarmed while your the only one defending an objective, it's like no matter how many you take out they just keep coming.
I killed 10 in a row with my Shotgun heavy during a skirmish match, I died because I ran out of Ammo. People would just spawn and leave, no nanohives, no logi's healing me; just me, a shotgun, and a SMG. We then lost because we ran out of clone reserves

Re: EVE DUST 514
I suggest you stick to ambush and only go to skirmish if you got a squad formed. It's a lot easier and you don't lose that much money.
