Riddle Competition

I think at this moment, Samurainova is the only person still trying to actively solve it (Or at least, who wouldn't mind the answer being given)

Please let me know if this is wrong, whether Samurai has given up or other people are working on it~

At the moment I'm trying to think of another hint, but it's rather hard X_x

No, I wouldn't be angry at this point.
A little disappointed with myself, but not upset.
This riddle is so perfect.
Every line fits the DkS feel and can fit into so many different things, which is what makes it so damn good.
I still cant believe that no one has got it yet.

No one posted for a day so I think just say answer or give a REALLY obvious hint

A good thread is near dead, because your riddle is just too *** hard
We have seemingly depleted all of our answers, and we wouldb't move on before we know what is THE right answer

if it's really that good, you'll get a **** ton of upvotes

That's when we found out he died in a car crash and we will never know the answer.

I'm going to guess at the first battle with Seathe the Scaleless.

The loss is that of your souls and humanity.
The ring is the ring of sacrifice that lets you keep them, but breaks in the process.
Seath isn't a boss at that point since he can not be killed.
If you aren't careful, you can get cursed, meaning that you "drop" half you health.

This is the fourth time someone has said this lol I was the first, and its incorrect. Sorry holmes :/

Well, I guess that's what I get for reading the riddle and making a straight guess.

Does "not a boss" also mean it can't be a "miniboss" like the iron boars?

Second guess: those octupii in Izalith. The sudden loss is the loss of durability. The ring that could stop it is the east wood grain ring which lets your items endure for twice as long, It is fearsome since they tend to be before bosses and minibosses. Be careful or you'll have to drop your broken weapons or drop souls repairing them?

Third guess: the lava in the demon ruins when you try to get the ember. It's quite shocking when you get annihilated by the lava. The orange charred ring stops it from causing damage. It isn't a boss, but it is quite fearsome. If you don't have the right ring or massive vit and black iron armor, you'll just keep dropping souls trying to get them back.
