Lorewise: Quelana and her sisters fought against the dragons. Even though their mother probably did most of the work. I'd say Shiva's toast
Gameplaywise: It's the same as Richard vs Jeremiah. Her lack of poise screws her over, especially against a muraukumo, but at least Shiva can't spam any long range attacks. Assuming she knows every spell she teaches, she could probably get off a few lucky fire tempests.
Shiva would probably get more kills, but I'll give Quelana the benefit of the doubt and assume she manages to land most of her attacks. My vote goes to Quelana.

Tough call. We fight one (non-mutated) sister and...she ain't bad. A lucky shot or two and she can hurt ya bad but limited evasion ability despite low equipment weight and no poise means....bye bye. She could be tougher than her sister but I don't think by much. I know it's speculation but I think it's fair. Also, lorewise, Shiva is second in command of a covenant and appears to be the muscle of the team. I think he takes it.

Quelana invented a field of magic. Somehow I think she doesn't show us every trick/She
s limited for gameplay reason. Lorewise she'd destroy Shiva.
Gameplay wise I'd call it even.

Quelana should be the only one left who knows how to use fire sorceries. There's quelag's/fire sage's/stray's explosion, I wonder what other spells there are?

One of the elder witches of chaos vs a eastern warrior? Uhm... my vote goes for Quelana.
We dont know if she knows forgotten pyromancies, maybe she's able to unleash a great chaos firestorm and make shiva nuggets. Plus, he can rapport undead to help her in the fight, and im sure her pyromancies are by far the most powerful ones. One fireball and goodbye, Shiva.

What I like about this one is that it geographically could happen as they both hang out in bottom Blighttown. Of course if Quelana approached Shiva with some squabble she would find that she's not just fighting him but his bodyguard as well.
Anyway, I think this match-up is similar to the Ricard/Jeremiah match-up. Lore-wise it's absolutely Quelana - no contest. Gameplay-wise I think Shiva wins the day. He stunlocks 0 poise Quelana 2-handing his Mura and kills her in one stamina bar. Though, like Jeremiah, it would only take her landing one pyro blast to end Shiva. Still though, unlike Ricard's rapier which is death by a thousand pokes (allowing much more potential for error) Shiva's Mura kills Quelana in a mere 4 hits. Her window is small.
I go Shiva.

Well we've already established that Quelana would win without any problem if the fight was lore-wise.
But here's how I think it would go if it actually happened in-game; in Blighttown.
>quelana runs into shiva and his ninja bodyguard
>they begin to fight because quelana accidentally hit r1 while she had her pyro flame on with great combustion attuned and she didn't feel like going to oswald at the time
>ninja bodyguard casts fire surge
>quelana shows this kid how its done and incinerates the poor guy
>quelana runs over to the boulder trolls
>quelana uses undead rapport
>boulder trolls smash shiva while shiva is getting hit by pyromancy
>well, what is it?

That's it....I'm gonna go attack her ASAP and see if she does any of that
Edit: oh yeah, no backup for either. Remember the rules, all fights are in one of the arenas

I gotta go with Quelana on this one too. It is a lot like the Jeremiah vs Ricard round, only except where 0 poise jeremiah wasn't safe at any distance and had to deal with a fast weapon, 0 poise Quelana only has to keep out of the range of a slow sword, along with having several more chaos spells at her disposal.

Re: Ultimate Lordran Tournament 2/9-2/15
ooo didn't saw this one
I go with Quelana, both lorewise and gameplay wise
Okay Shiva hits hard and could stunlock her, but you must remember that most NPCs keeps blocking all the time and negating stamina regen.
Assuming that Quelana would spam every danm pyro she sells, Shiva could roll 2 or 3 times, and then gets a great fireball to the face, and then repeat until he dies.

I voted for shiva because i love his character. But, i think theirs no doubt quelaana would turn shiva the east into shiva the shishkebob.

It's about time one of my predictions for the outcome of the fight is actually correct.

Re: Ultimate Lordran Tournament 2/9-2/15
I voted Quelana instantly. I love her too much not to have faith in her ability to kill everyone and everything.
Though, she's feigning ablution. So, I don't think she would attack unless Shiva attacked her first, which wouldn't happen cause he hunts ninjas, and she has no trinkets to give him. He goes for weapons.
Soooo, we're going for a "cool" factor. And Quelana's got her voice, and the fact that she's on your side. She's your friend. Shiva is just the guy who acts cool, but isn't because he never really wants to be your friend.

Re: Ultimate Lordran Tournament 2/9-2/15
Hmmmm....first off I love this thread ......secondly.....
NPCs have a strange playstyle. Their combat aggressions are very generic. They do not wait for openings, they simply attack and react.
Quelana has her aoe castings true, but she also has other spells, most of which are interruptible.
Shiva may not know enough to backstab her casting attempts, but NPCs in general do not practice advanced evasive manuvers including Quelana. Which reminds me......
As far as I can tell, I've never seen Quelana roll. I've seen her walk into all my arrows and whatnot without ever rolling. Maybe I'm imagining it, someone please clarify. This is only a mitigating factor in my decision.
Also, excluding undead rapport, she has a 29% chance of casting an aoe spell (considering she can cast everything she sells), and only a 14% chance of casting fire tempest. I'd also be willing to say there is even a smaller chance of her casting an aoe spell without being interupted, seeing as how Shiva will undoubtedly apply pressure to at least some extent.
With the numbers against her, I'd say she has a small chance of landing the required castings (well timed combustion pyros) to actually compensate for the pressure Shiva would undoubtedly apply.
With those things considered I say, "Shiva wins 3 out of 5 times".
(This is also considering its a 1 vs 1 fight with Shiva's body guard being out to lunch)
This pains me greatly as Quelana is one of my fellow casters...
