by Coryf2209 Fri Feb 15, 2013 2:50 ama raw weapon is like an elemental weapon, only physical. It adds damage(like elemental weapons) and lowers scaling(like elemental weapons). Like, if I want to use a washing pole on my STR-FAI build, I'm going to make it raw so it does more base damage, despite the toon having only a bit more than the required dex on it, as well as still being able to enchant it with sunlight blade. I don't understand why people hate on the raw path.

Elemental weapons do way more damage than Raw weapons.
Raw +5 equals Fire +5 when it comes to resource costs and damage. And you have 5 more upgrades to fire, while Raw doesn't.

Yep. Raw's only saving grace is that it doesn't need any chunks/slabs. If Raw went to +15 it would beat normal +15 on low scaling weapons or with base stats to use a weapon.

Of course it would, because a Raw +15 would be almost like a Normal + 20.
Raw is a good upgrade for the begining of the game because it can be maxed out early, but it gets crappy later in the game.

I love the raw path , my washing pole raw +5 with darkmoon blade is OP as hell. I think people underestimate things because they dont care to try them. With raw power comes raw death.

^ Actually, an unupgraded weapon with Darkmoon Blade also is OP.
Once I had a Raw Gargoyal Tail Axe +5. It was good for most of the game. Eventually I had to get something else.

^^^ Yeah true, but just trying to make some examples. if u use raw right , it will cut your foes raw.
