1 second invasion

Soon after finishing leveling my SL 99 I ran to the Depths to in order to start farming Humanity. I kindle the fire and literally a second later my bonfire deactivates and I get invaded. The invader was kind of a pushover he/she tried hitting me with some pyros but they ultimately didn't last long.

Anyway what surprised me was the invasion and the rapidity of it. Is the Depths such a PvP hotspot that I wasn't aware of and at that level?

yeah people keep pvping there at a pretty high level.

That's surprising to me. I thought it was SL 15-30 zone, 40 max.

Has it always been like that and I just didn't know or is this a new thing?

I get invaded instantly nearly everywhere I go. It's a curse and a gift depending on what I'm doing at the time.

It always depends on the time I play, what sl and the amount of people on. For my sl 84 some places like the Painted World get little invasion really late, I'm on the EST time zone, while others can so packed that the instant I walk in I get invaded.

I get the PW. But the Depths?!?

My best guess without much research would be for hunting soft humanity by using the mobs against you with the invader or try to get you to die fast by the terrain with little effort.

There tons of low sl griefers in the depths, its funny cause most of them suck and whn they invade my sl99 they get destroyed and send me hatemail.

I'm surprised too I never got any PVP when I was a human at the depths. I've been invaded only once down there and it was by a lucky sob that got the PSN name "Knight Kirk".

any place where the boss is optional is going to have a high invasion rate

I've had my best invasion/hosting runs in the depths.


I got a few million souls and a ton of humanity just sitting in the bonfire room with a dragon body character. People come in, I do the dragon roar, hit them with a maxed out claymore strong attack twice, they die, hate mail ensues. With the dried finger it was invasions almost constantly.

I invade a lot in the Depths .
I get lots of Action with my SL 15 Broken Chaossword +2 Hollow Soldier guy .

SL 15 sounds reasonable. What really surprised me was the high SL.

Can't DWs Invade any Soul Level above them ?
Or did you actually receive more than a couple of thousand souls ?

Good point. I didn't think about that. Poor, poor low SL griefer...

I find it funny that they would put at least 3-4 hours of collecting items to kill the Four Kings at SL 15 just so they would be slaughtered by the hosts and their phantoms.

I could just imagine someone with average leveled gear invading someone that has a phantom cosplaying as a black knight.

Those griefers really love their pyros so a BK cosplay would really wreck them

Well since they don't have to put any time into a stat that affects pyromancy it would make sense.

Now I have a new idea for a build.

You two weren't kidding about griefing pyros. However the guy did not expect my 84 to be strong against fire even if lag was in his favor!

I get a lot of invasions in the Depths at 120. I have no idea why, but I don't care as it's a really fun spot for 2v1 invasions.

I kill the griefer in burg...fast soft humanity source very reliable
...but farming the rats in depth?
isn't that a little bit slow?
I use seths prison for that

I've gotten no luck in the past with those Pisacas. With max item discovery it's taken me 3 runs to get one sprite, and that bonfire is kinda far.

How much do you usually get?

I have averaged 2 humanity a run in the prison using the gold dragon ring and 10+ humanity. Sometimes I get nothing, but then other times I will get 3 or 4. My maximum so far is 6 in one go.

average of 2 is a little bit high, but around 1.5-1.7 is my average (droprate 410).

Just run down ignoring the snake guys (and shut all prisons after looting them) make a Firestorm/tempest at the door, finish the rest with fireballs, get my humanity and bone out - takes me around 1 minute.
Last time i got 75 hum in 50 min. looting, but i made some breaks, cauz it's really boring. Also made around 500k Souls in that time and didn't know what to do with them...

Looting soft humanity from griefer is much more fun...the first time they bow and fight fair, after the first onehit killing they start to get mad and try everything, BS while bow, chainBS, Magic abuse, spam riposte (looks so funnny)....
And i am going with only a SL55 Giant Mother in Burg, thats not impossible for a SL20 griefer, but still funny when they BSed me the fourth time and i still got more of the half of the health....i know unfair and cheap, but THEY try to kill beginner with their OP Gear and thats my way to protect the beginner ;-)
