I imagine it'd be pretty tough with thrust weapons.

you mean like rapiers and spears? You can still dead angle with their R2 attacks, or do unlocked running attacks so your opponent can't figure out your angle.

ive tried it a few times, while it does seem to throw off your opponent im not very good at it. one of those things that just require practice but along with the Great Scythe i just dont see myself puting in the time to becoming good at it.
