Quite impressive lore there. I really like it.

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
About Gwyndolin, I view him as an imposter/figurehead leader of the darkmoons (I see now the lore I wrote is up, I suppose that is quite obvious then ). I never viewed myself as follower of Gwyndolin, but I had no problem using his stuff and that includes sunlight blade, crown of the dark sun and the darkmoon bow as well. Mostly, I think of him as a means to an end.
I believe as messengers of Velka and in accordance with rule #3 we should use whatever equipment that will get the job done. I definitely agree Gwyndolin is not to be trusted :suspect:... for is he not too drenched in sin? It seems to me attempting to deceive undead and get the them to forfeit all of their humanity is taking the game of the darkwraiths and going pro with it.
---
Also, thank guys ... and I believe I have 34-35 since I officially joined.

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
I only have 26 I think but then I only hunt those for my own needs than any covenant. I have been getting ask to trade them by some people who want the DMB and talisman.
I really am not sure who is the true god of Sin. I just tend to believe that Velka is the one who inflicts sin on those who commit crimes and that there is wrong to balance right with consequences while Gwyndolin is Vengeance who acts as the median for both their followers to act as the forces of justice and retribution. It makes sense to me.

My views are the same, Velka keeps track of sin and then coordinates with Gwyndolin who sends out his blades of the darkmoon to punish sin. Velka is like the judiciary(law maker) while Gwyndolin is the executive(enforcer).

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
Vow of Silence:
Secret rite of black-haired witch Velka.
Prevents casting of magic within effect area.
Velka, the Goddess of Sin, is a rogue deity,
but she is versed in arts both new and old,
and is considered to have a great range of
influence even as gods are concerned.
Karmic Justice:
Miracle of the black-haired witch Velka.
Temporary autocounter vs. heavy damage.
For each sin there is a punishment, and
it is the task of Goddess Velka to define
the sin, and mete out the punishment.
It's clear that Velka is the goddess of sin and that she is in charge of punishment (at least originally). Gwyndolin's role is admittedly ambiguous, just as Velka's absence is mysterious. I just don't trust Gwyndolin. He's using a series of illusions and half truths to manipulate the chosen undead. And, why is he the only deity left in Anor Londo?

exactly
Velka went rogue and lost her title as Goddess of Sin. That position is now taken up by Gwyndolin God of Sin. She was replaced by Gwyndolin.
Basically she got fired and Gwyndolin was hired, though nepotism was likely involved
I don't really trust Gwyndolin either but the threat level he potentially poses is so minimal one can afford not to worry about him. What's he gonna do, bite your kneecaps with his snake legs? He is one of the weakest deities in the game (compared to Nito, Gwyn, and if you consider them deities the four kings, bed of chaos, hell even Ornstein is stronger than Gwyndolin IMO.)

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
I have about 30 ears since I brought the covenant back.
I think Gwyndolin Is pretty fishy but he is still a god.
Killing Gwyndolin of course would be a sin and we'd have to take all beatings by DM's with the or gesture in accordance with the rules.

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
edit: adding quote...
Did she go rogue or is she merely considered a rogue deity in general for being different and punishing other gods, too? I had always thought the latter...

Remember, Gwyndolin is a "he".
I think Gwyndolin is a rogue deity because he is the only one left in Anor Londo. He had to have some reason for not leaving with the other gods.

Gwyndolin stayed behind not because he went rogue but because he wanted to honor his fathers memory and wanted desperately to maintain the age of fire that his father sacrificed himself to prolong. He's not rogue, I would say all the other gods went rogue when they fled anor londo.

Of course my liege. I will hunt them from the highest tower to the deepest pits. They shall not escape my unbridled fury. Tarkus of Berenike will pave the fortress's walls with the blood of sinners. My only hope is that I do not have to fight myself.

I'm sorry about not helping in the tomb luvz2fight.
I had to do the dishes and forgot to log off, by the time I got back I had to sleep.

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
No worries Iris, I took the shortcut through there and then beat the everloving CRAP out of Nito, it took me like 5 hits as Tarkus to take him out.
P.s. I got those ten ears from Sen's fortress, It took forever but I got em. Please never send me back there again, the invasions were so slow I think I died a little inside from all the waiting .
Got some really funny kills, four of the sinners I killed died because I dropped down on top of them with my sword. Hilarious

+1'd Thank you for your dedication to the Messengers.
Since you got through Nito's would you prefer to invade Catacombs or Tomb?

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
I chose Tomb of the Giants over the catacombs. The invasions are coming faster but I don't have the same advantage I had in Sen's Fortress. I probably wont be making much progress in there until next week. I REALLY need a Ultra Greatsword coach, dem mofos in the Tomb aint playin' no games.

Thank you loyal followers.
Anyone know how to use capture cards?
I would like to start a Youtube channel or something to show our exploits, never uploaded anything though.

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
Ok, I've been patrolling Ariamis and dark Anor Londo most of the week and wasn't getting any invasions there today, anyway. The change of scenery ought do me well. Maybe I'll experiment with chameleon... I've never tried that in the heat of battle. See how many gankers walk right into a CSS.
I'm nearing triple digits in ears collected since I pledged myself to velka (at least a dozen per day). I've equiped Velka's rapier in my off hand and I love how it works. If I ever get comfortable parrying in pvp I'll be all but unstoppable.
