Rise Gravesworn, and rise again.

Here is the official home thread for the Gravelord User Covenant, now named by a greater concensus the Gravesworn.

We exist to propagate the Misery Nito would want us to inflict on the living as well as providing a strong support network for new Gravelords or veteran players who have considered joing but considered the Covenant broken.

"The souls of lost humans who swore thier Oaths to Nito, Lord of the Dead, and were granted new bodies comprised of many corpses of the Undead that roam Lordran. In doing so Nito made his servants immortal and charged them with bringing about the new age he desires. Each Gravesworn is bound to Nito and can channel his malice through the Eyes of Death to spread vast quantities of misery throughout the world. Nito named his most trusted servants Heralds, the harbingers of a form of his ill will toward the living"."


Like all Covenanters we play to serve the Great Lord of Death by accruing as many Eyes of Death as we possibly can.

For too long we the servants of Nito, inheritors of his glorious powers, have shunned the light of Lordran. We have wandered alone seeking the deaths of our enemies. Now Nito has called to us to forge him an army equal to those of the other Lords.

We shall rise from the crypts of our ancestors and march forth!

We shall target the following areas for now

SL20- Burg, Parish, Depth

SL 60- Sens/ Anor Londo/ Painted World
SL 80- The dens of the other Lords!

SL 120- Anywhere you so choose


I've tried to space out the SL's so that anyone in between can rank up to the nearest easily.

Within the Gravesworn we will have a Ranking System that will allow us to determine our own dedication to the Gravelord Nito, as well as identify veteran Gravelorders who have put a lot of time into this Covenant.

* ( the suffix of the title is subject to request, and will be first come first served)

Our base of operations it the Catacombs where we have unrestricted access to our lord as well as the home field advantage (not to mention BP Bonewhell Skeletons). Also whe have a Smith close by to us, as such I would like to see some of you perhaps using Fire weapons or even Chaos.

Gravelords serve Nito as idividuals and as such we have a variety of skilled individuals and at Nito's command ranging from long dead knights, to socrcerors of unbelivable power, and mighty and faithful clerics.


Though a member of this covenant must have access to either the Gravelord Sword or Gravelord Great/Sword Dance.

While we will be an organised group there is nothing to stop you from invading and taking out fellow members. I encourage fair play and friendly competition between us, because we wouldn't be all that evil if we didn't betray each other from time to time.

Then- Siefer's orgins are shrouded in mystery though it has been confirmed that he was alive during the Age of Ancients and privvy to the "extinction" of the Dragons at the hands of the Lords. It is said that Siefers souls was always one of chaos and violence and always had a destabilising effect on the world around him. When the war to claim Lordran was over Gwyn and his family addressed the threat that Siefer proved and destroyed his mortal body and cast his soul into the depths of the Earth, far from Anor Londo and the seat of thier power. However as time passed Siefers soul gained a sense of awareness and over a thousand years he waited in the dark growing ever more mad and unstable, until he was found by a mortal. His soul exchanged hands many times in the next hundred years always corrupting the carried and leading to thier demise, whereupon Siefer would absorb part of the hosts soul. Eventually he came into possession of a Holy Knight whose armour was a burnished gold and carried a hammer the likes of which had not been seen in Lordran before. Resisting Siefers whispers the knight carried the soul back into the bowels of the earth attempting to cast him in the the dark for a second time. Siefer, by tearing and consuming parts of his own soul in order to gain power, finally over whelmed the knight at the last minute, who in an act of desperation cast himself into the abyss before him attmepting to destroy them both. Siefer however survived and passed the next two centuries immobile in the cavern below. Finally after such a long time had passed Siefer felt another presence in the room. One of Death and Apathy. Nito approached the pitiful Siefer and offered him the chance to serve him in bringing about a new age in exchnage for a new body. Siefer reluctantly agreed, 19 of his multiple personalities agreeing to serve the Lord of Death, and swore his Oath to Nito who raised him a body from the corpses of many. Occultists, Priests, the Holy Paladin, and more besides. With a new amalgamation of Siefers own multiple consciousnesses with these new ancient one he was driven only more insane by the cacophany in his head. Finally when Nito asked what Siefer wanted as a reward for his unyielding service, he replied in a momment of lucidity that all he would want when the new age came to pass was to rest amongst the dead as by that point he would have unleashed upon the world the same chaos and misery he experienced while he was sealed away.

As a young hunter Baratheon always found himself giving the utmost respect to the dead, at an inn one Siefer Locke was heard talking about the power of the gravelord. With Baratheon's mother dying this may have clouded his vision but he travelled into the bowels of the earth to find Nito to ressurect his fallen family member. After a few days travelling he finally reached the alleged cove the Lord of Death was in, mustering his strength to battle if necessary he went in... Nito had but one condition, if he raised the boys mother that he would have to become Gravesworn. This decision was made instantaneously, "Yes, so long as he could keep his pact with Lady Priscilla" Nito, already being allies with the Lifehunters saw no reason to disgree, the boys courage was formidable. With that Baratheon Stark turned into the Justicar of the Damned, Baratheon Gravesworn.

Lore of Leichenehm-In west Anor Londo born and raised, on the elevators he spent most of his days, chillin out maxing, relaxin, acting all cool and just shooting some Sentinels with a Bow, when a couple wraiths who were up to no good, started making trouble in the neighbourhood...

Leichenehm was once a mere student of the Dragon School of Vinheim. However, interested in the sorceries of the Soul and ideas of the undead he went out in search of greater magics. At one point he ran into a man with a big hat believing he to be the legendary Logan, however it merely turned out to just be some merchant with a big hat. In his searches he never really came up with anything of interest, however a wandering man pointed him in the direction of the abyss stating it was an area of Dark Energy. To others would have come off as more of a warning however the fool Leichenehm took it as a challenge of adventure and greater understanding. After fighting his way through the ghosts and barely surviving he met with a man in red who informed him of the dangerous Dark Wraiths, a warning he of course didn't heed. While searching the area he came across a being that wore a hood and had a face resembling a skeleton. At first it merely watched him from afar until he attempted to cast a spell at the humanoid beast. He grew quite alarmed at the sphere of dark red that deflected his weak spell. He tried everything within his power to best it even using the Homing Soulmasses to try and catch it in melee. Finally, it was the creatures turn. It broke every bone in his body before draining him of every last ounce of humanity at its leisure before tossing him into the dark waters. Soon after he resurrected at the Firelink shaking, terrified of the creature which took everything he had. Again he found the traveller who had warned him and asked the man if there were any areas where the Dark Wraith wouldn't be found. The man informed him that the Catacombs were a safe haven of them, "They wouldn't dare go down there." Again making a wrong decision this sorcerer fought his way down mostly running from skeletons in an earnest attempt to keep himself from dying yet another gruesome death. At one point he spotted an open coffin and dove in hiding with another body hoping, pleading with the very gods that he wouldn't be found. An hour passed until finally he decided to look at the body with him, hoping it was definitely dead. In its hands it clutched a small orb which he examine when suddenly he was plummeted into darkness. Slamming fist after fist into the coffins lid he could not free himself as he was carried. Eventually he stopped and again the sorcerer waited his doom. Finally, Leichenehm decided to crawl out noticing the top was now partially opened. Falling to his knees he was left in awe before the mass of bones that many know as Nito. This still being seeming to be uncaring of anything, his presence didn't even stir the might god like Nito. He grovelled for his life yet still it didn't strike him down. He thought for a moment to maybe try a gift, however the poor man had lost everything to that Wraith in New Londo. But, he had the orb which he held in hand while praying and muttering words of selfish hoping. Surprisingly it vanished as the man felt an energy swell within him, something foreign and unlike any magic that he had learned to this point. After spending hours merely meditating in this room he returned to the coffin and was transported back to the engraved area. Upon freeing himself from the death filled tomb Leichenehm discovered that the skeletons no longer appeared to be hostile. They merely were passive ignoring him just like his new master had. As well he discovered a few more of those orbs laying around on a few corpses, and decided to test them for himself. Upon attempting to harness their power he found that some dark creatures had spawned in the pit below, surely death for any to get past. Now he merely waits in these catacombs praying travellers and adventures just as he had once been, killing them and pillaging souls and eyes from their weak and miserable bodies. Growing in power with every death. He doesn't care much for some of the other servants who claim to be ushering in an era of death, they are merely a bonus. For Leichenehm, the energy and power he was gathering was priceless.

I may have gotten a bit carried away, so I tried to end it as quickly as possible haha.

EDIT: Just thought I should mention, his name is german based, it means Body Taker, Corpse Snatcher, and Life Claimer.

Also much thanks to you as well DvX04 for helping get this this off the ground and providing some great resources from your extensive experience.

Upon forming of the Servants of Izalith, I would like to have a pact with our covenants. As such, we can use the Gravelord Sword, and your people will be allowed to curse the lands of Blighttown, Demon Ruins, and Lost Izalith without penalty. We shall discuss later of how to allow notification between the two in case another gravelord curses a Servant and is not a gravesworn.

My characters name is Jebadiah Carver.


Jebadiah Carver was a simple man. He lived on a farm with his family living a dull life. Day after day month after month year after year tending to the same crops. Yet he loved this life. On one day bandits came and killed his whole family,butchering them in front of his eyes. Vowing for revenge he sought after them. Bringing only his trusty scythe for aid, he set out. For a while, he was sure that no matter what he would find the monsters who had destroyed his life. But, soon he was fatigued and weary from travel. On the return journey home the the burnt farm, he rested in a cave one night. During that night he was awoken by what sounded like foot steps. Suddenly awake and alert, he realized that the cave he was sleeping in went deeper.Filled with curiosity of what lie deeper, he grabbed his trusty scythe and ventured deeper into the cave. Soon enough the cave walls turned from dirt to stone. After a while venturing into the cave he tripped. Looking down to see what it was he screamed with horror. The bodies of dead children littered the floor. Very hesitantly, he continued onward. Soon enough the path was blocked by a huge stone door. Looking around he saw a smaller cave. Entering the room he saw a lever. He went over to the lever and pushed. As soon as it touched the wall the bodies of child and adult alike stood up and started to attack him. Wielding his scythe Jebadiah hacked at the bodies rending them limb from limb, severing their heads and legs. But for every one that fell another got up. Fearing for his life and that he'd never see his revenge, he ran, and ran and ran, and the skeletons chassed in pursuit.. Soon enough he found a coffin in the wall, being the only hope of survival he jumped in.Seeming to have eluded his pursuers he tried to open the lid. It was stuck. Hours went buy in this coffin, when suddenly it lurched. He screamed to be let out and kicked at the lid to no avail. Finally it stopped and the lid was partially open. Building the courage to face what was out there, he opened the lid. But nothing was there. Stepping out of the coffin he was in a very large, dark cavern. He wandered around for a few minutes and then saw the Gravelord Nito, sitting lifelessly in his giant coffin. Thinking this was his only chance for revenge he prayed to the gravelord to grant him the power to kill the men who had destroyed his life. After hours of endless pleeding and object fell infront of him. An eye of some sort. As he picked it up he felt power like never before and knew that the men who had killed his family would suffer by his hand. Now he waits for them in the catacombs, knowing that some day his prayers to the Gravelord will be answered. Untill, then he feeds on those foolish enough to enter his domain, slowly gaining strength to do his final task in life...get revenge. [i]

Oh, oh! Pick me, pick me! I wanna do lore next!

Harqin the Unhero- Harquin of the mountian clans, born to royalty, decendant of power, but ascender of the dark. Foremost a survivor, when brought before Nito himself, he did the only thing he knew how: Kneel. And Nito, perhaps amused, but who knows the will of the Gravelord, exepted the unmighty unhero Harqin into their ranks, forever binding him with a covenent. And so Harqin serves forevermore, and weilds his trusty Estoc, to remind him of whence he came, alongside his Gravelord Sword, to remind him to obey. He hates the Gravelord, and thus the Gravelord has become part of him. His only will is that of the Gravelord. Nito is law, and there is no other.

Welcome Imarreteet and Dr. This is good we are now gatherring some steam. When we get two or three of the outstanding members I'll organise our first Gravelording Challenge and Event. Until then Praise the Gravelord and remember. Papa Nito loves you.

I think the introduction with character lore is something that is uniques to us and give this covenant just that little bit more flavour. Plus its always cooler to play a character you can empathise with.

I'd also like to see Greyvedigger and Gravelord hunter back here if they are still around. Noxus is always a badass addition to anything.

Working on a new Gravelord toon, a tiny bit of Pyro but other than that he is a flat out Knight. Knight/Elite Knight set, Zweihander, Crest Shield, and a back up Estoc. I'm going to be Gravelording in the Catacombs exclusively on him and really trying to spread some disaster. Oh bonewheels, oh bonewheels. He'll be level appropriate as well, so I'll be cursing low levels down there. I feel quite evil haha.

I was so happy that they somewhat fixed gravelord covenant in 1.05, I have a character centered around GL sword and pyromancy, the sword is beast. I am on Xbox "Cribstaxxx" and would love to get into some GL events, message or friend me. I am currently sl70 but I will be getting to 120 soon.

For XBL PM DvX04 as he is heading the XBL Gravesworn. He is also the most knowledgable about the Gravelord Servant Covenant on this forum so pose any questions you have to him. Welcome. Also if you like feel free to post a little lore/ intro about you character.
