I hate invading Japanese players

No harm to the Japanese, I just don't see the point of pvp when everyone is teleporting all over the place due to lag. If I win it's random; if I lose it's random. No point.

I recall someone saying that you could tweak settings to insure that you wouldn't invade people a bazillion miles away, but I can't find the post in the old forum. Does anyone know about this? Does it work?

Edit: All, I want to be completely explicit that this thread has nothing to do with the character, play style, etc., of Japanese players or any other group of players. I think this is obvious from my initial un-edited comment (above), but if not, I hope this edit clears things up. Thanks!

I too hate invading Japanese players, sometimes the lag isn't too bad, but most times I just get backstabbed over and over from the front.

I have a decent internet connection, but it nearly always lags as hell. Except one single time, some guy invaded me at Demon's Ruins, and it was just awesome. No lag at all. Just like pve fighting. But he was actually from the US!?

Yeah, as you probably know, "getting ass" is slang for having sex. If someone told me that they "drew the ass card" last night, I would have assumed that they had a pretty good night.

For the hundred time stop making these threads, if you used to be in the old wiki, you know they are aways locked and you lose some reputation. If you died by lag, its not the person fault if they live in a distance place than you. What do you want, to they move to your town just to have a fair fight? You died by lag: "ok time to move on." , not:"I'm going to complain in the threads because I'm too lazy to recover my bloodstain"

some matches are just not good and therefore should be forgotten the game is laggy/yes

it has input delays/yes

it has the most horrendous lag some people ever saw/yes

but the game is still great and it stil has potential...if the people would stop trying to lagstab me every fricking match :evil:

but thats no complaining because i still find people that don't try to lagstab me on rare occasions and that leads to a very fun high level fair fight where only the most skilled wins

Carphil, you really should read the initial post before commenting. This thread has nothing to do with accusing anyone of lag stabbing, cheapness, etc. I've made that very clear. This is strictly a thread about resolving connection issues. I'm sure that all players (Japanese, American, European, etc.) prefer not to invade or be invaded by someone halfway accross the world. If there is a technical solution for filtering out such invasions from my end, I would love to here it so that I (and the people I invade) don't have to waste time. If not, so be it.

Yes i read the first post, but what I'm trying to say is not that YOU are insulting someone because of the lag in his/her country, but what I said is that there are many trolls out there, and THESE Threads are aways locked because some people don't have respect at all for the others.

Ok, I still think we can have an adult conversation here despite the fact that some people don't have respect for players in other countries. So far we have had no negative posts of that sort. Again, all I'm interested in is knowing whether there are settings for my PS3 that can reduce the chance of pvp sessions with people extremely far away.
