A good old Large Club +15 is my tank weapon. I do favour the BKGA over it sometimes though.

I think the large club is too slow to be an appropriate/effective tank weapon, and it just makes your weakness's that much more profound while not bolstering our strong points enough for the tradeoff. I think the Large Club works best on a medium build.

I guess that can go both ways. Your Black Knight is a true tank, while I am a medium. I used the BKGA simply because of the lack of a more appropriate weapon on-hand at the time. So, something even more heavy, like a BKGA would actually be more effective for a proper tank build then? I can admit the Large Club has it's downsides, but it has that oh so lovely 2H rolling attack.

The weight of the weapon is not in question here, but rather the speed of it's attack. The Black Knight Greataxe both swings and recovers from a blow faster than the Large Club, which makes it more appropriate, especially given how close their AR's are to each other. You might notice my Balck Kgniht tends to favor the halberd and greatsword over the ultra great and the axe, unless i'm in a rather fishy mood, and this is because the biff time on missed swings is that much smaller.RenegadeCop wrote:I guess that can go both ways. I think any spammer is crap,be it R1 or not.But the worst kind are the katana/falchion buffers.You block,you lose half of your health from chip damage.You try to backstab,it gets cancelled from ghost hits.You roll away,you take 600 damage from a phantom hit.And failing a setup parry with almost always leave you dead.
It takes no skills to win with but is so insanely overpowered.I'd much rather deal with bleed spam as I can roll away as bleed occurs to cancel but I hate those buffers so much.Hope they either nerf buffs to hell or scale them to the weapon AR in the sequel,there will be a lot less spam then.

R1 spam = parry practice. The toughest ones to parry are the falchion-speed weapons. When I see someone R1 spamming, I actually get excited. I'll do setup parries all night. It is great to see an R1 spamming zaphander or clay in the forest.

The two handed spam with a Zweihander is great if you catch a turtle in a corner. In a more open area it sucks though, you might as well say "backstab me" to your opponent. In those cases a 2 handed Uchigatana R1 spam works better for the speed n' bleed.

I'm a R1 spammer...with the Zweihander, Painting Guardian Sword, and Balder Side Sword.
Why? Because that is the probably the best method to win with those weapons (Except, Balder Side Sword, which I find its R1 follow-ups very useful for pressuring dodge-happy people)

It's R2 is boosted by the Leo Ring, and even if you aren't wearing it, the R2 is extremely powerful compared to normal R2 damage.
R1 can easily stunlock poiseless people to death.
Long range, especially compared to the other straight swords.
Looks awesome in general.

Eh, buffing + a Falchion... it's a very, very pitiful tactic. I don't like buffs in this game as they are incredibly overpowered when applied to virtually any weapon.

I do about 20 damage per hit.
If I see someone use Gold Pine Resin, I'll use Magic Weapon.
Now I do around 80 damage per hit.
So I literally do 4x more damage from a base level buff.
Now imagine that with more power, a higher leveled buff, better mag adj, and a half decent weapon.
You can begin to see just how powerful buffs are.
