I know it may not seem like much, and personally I don't know why either, but it seems that coders today can't organize worth a crap and even very slight changes can be like throwing a wrench into the smallest gear and mess up everything. So if you are not even on that team of coders, heck even the individual coder themself without proper markings and notations you can easily mess things up by tinkering.

Crack there has been fluctuation within the same community so far though, people on PS3 in US have both 15 and 20, its turning out to be quite the puzzle.
would like to know Fex' value for elite knight though actually

20 Poise, PS3 Japan. This is with a NZ/EU version of Dark Souls.
I also have the Japanese version of the game, but haven't played it since I got my English version. I can check that as well if you like?
My PS3 is a Japanese model, which is really annoying cause I bought all the old PSone Final Fantasys on my EU PSN account but can't play them on my PS3. .I think I can't play them because Japanese and American PS3s can't output at 50hz, which is required for old PAL region games.
So, maybe the type of PS3 might also have an impact on the the EK chest's poise?

If you can that would be very helpful. Honestly, unless I have misread somewhere, it only seems like NA PS3 has the 15 poise. It's quite weird, maybe this should be brought to the attention of From and see what they say about it.

I'll be heading home from work in about 30 min and will check as soon as I get home. I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the poise will be 20 in the Japanese copy of the game as well.

according to the japanese wiki, the Elite knight chest was nerfed to 15 in 1.04 and brought back up to 20 in 1.05..
