The problem with SL120 is that it turns everyone into full-Giants dark
magic/WotG spammers with 2k hp, as far as random invasions are
concerned. There's no fun in that. If you wear gear that is easily
obtainable by people in the area and SL range that you're invading in,
then it's not griefing. In Anor Londo there's the giant blacksmith who
will upgrade your weapons to lightning, so invaders should be allowed to
use lightning weapons. When invading in undead burg/parish it still
wouldn't be griefing if you used unupgraded stuff.
I'm not saying ALL invading is griefing, I'm talking about people who use crap that your average player would not have access to, such as Chaos weaponry, DLC magic, DWG Ring, etc.
Someone actually invading with normal stuff you'd have at that point in the game, hey that's awesome. Too bad it rarely happens.
Last few times I got invaded? Let's see... there was this guy in the Depths who had 1500+ HP using a Mask, some type of Lightning Katana, DWG Ring, and who knows what other kind of crap he had on him. Backstabbed him for 300 damage and it barely put a dent in his meter. Ya, ok. Or how about the last couple AL invasions... I remember this guy ninja-flipping with some type of fire or chaos katana of some sort with ridiculous HP, I ran into some guy with a Lifehunt Scythe (technically that is obtainable before O&S, but seriously how many people are going to go and kill Priscilla before O&S? lol).
And then there was the person who spammed that DLC magic that fires the big swath of big black bolts (Dark Bead or something like that?). That was kinda cheap too.
Every now and then I'll get invaded by someone wearing sensible stuff.... but not very often. I dunno maybe it is because I'm on PC and you only get quality PvP on PS3? I ain't buying a PS3 just to enjoy Dark Souls PvP though lol. That's crazy.
Hopefully in DkS2 they will make it cross-platform or something so everybody has the same playing field...
