The flickering is back

Playing online this morning and all was fine, Untill the bf started flickering then the messages, then spells.
I didn't see it after the dlc was out but I'm guessing it's the same as then.
Related to patch 1.08?

Yep. I got back on to give notice about this, too.

Darkroot Basin, I thought there was lightning, but I saw the full moon. Continued on and the soul on the ground winked out.

Dang it! We get the fix, PSN does an upgrade, and it breaks again. Now it's just not limited to the DLC area.

I'm in the burg and it's happening here.

Magic is invisible just got killed 8 times in a row by people spamming invisible magic you cant dodge on audio cues alone!

I believe its the coding for resonance rings that is causing it, the DLC came with fixing resonance rings, the flickering turned up, They "fixed" the flickering resonance rings dissapeared......Resonance rings are back...do we see a pattern emerging

Thing is I was on for an hour this morning and everything was fine, went back on at bout 12:30 gmt and it had started.

i haven't noticed any flickering, i spent about 4 hours invading in Darkroot Forest last night and everything seemed to be okay, resonance rings and all.

Yes there is flickering everywhere now... hope they fix it fast...

Have to agree, knowing what I know about coding and bugs.

I haven't been on since Saturday. I'm so bummed already, and haven't yet experienced it yet AGAIN. IT RUINED IT, for me last time. to FROM. ( if reading...). FRACK THOSE RESONANCE RINGS, don't use 'em, don't need 'em, they only look purty sitting around. Get rid of them or test the fixes on your LAN, WITH YOUR GAMERS. WE SHOULD NOT BE THE TESTERS for something that is SO BUGGY, and basically a GAME BREAKER.
To PSN, ( if their update contained the breaking code). Work with the game devs a little better?

i still think it was the PSN update that broke things last time around, everything worked fine after the patch 1.06 right up until PSN did an updated and it looks like we might be in for a repeat, but i haven't had any flickering at all since the latest PSN update, and i was playing all weekend long.

It would " almost " point to the PSN update as the same exact scenario as last time just played out, but My thoughts, though, is that the PSN update probably has micro-network-updates for the games that have updated their game code.
( meanining, FROM Code might be in the PSN update, as the PSN is not likely going to let game devs have direct access to their code and servers.). Seems if it was PSN code alone, other games would have issues too. Especially other games with the same type of visuals ( everything that flickered last time had a glow of some sort)

Or , are there no other games with these type visuals?

Wasn't the game update done in Japan and EUR 3-4 weeks ago. Seems we would have heard of this on that front, much earlier? Was the PSN update worldwide?

Same thing's happening to me in Anor Londo. I'm tryin' to co-op here!!!

Upsides to the flickering bug: The Hydra fight in the Darkroot Basin was spectacular and the fog gate for the Bed of Chaos is almost transparent. From the inside it IS transparent.

I would much rather not have the flickering problem, but it will be interesting to go through the game again and noting the differences.

The fact it only affects online adds credence to my theory of it being linked with Resonance rings, anyone else agree with me?

Perhaps the differences of the flicker problem should have its' own thread?

Another observation: Bed of Chaos orbs have a dark red hue.

Due to the flickering, it's hard to see where the swords are coming up around you. Already killed 5 people with it.
