Recommend Video Games

Been trying to talk about this a little bit in Random but I don't think people are actually seeing it.Thought it might be good to have a thread solely about recommending games.

Does anybody know anything about The Witcher series? It's on sale on Steam right now for practically nothing. I'm thinking about doing it, but I have very limited space on my HD right now, so I'm not going to until I find out a bit more. I'm reading some reviews, but it's so much better to have dialogue.

I'm telling everyone how awesome I think The Cave is. Short but high replay value. Twisted story line. Innovative puzzles

I guess my roommate bought it off the PSN a couple days ago. He was actually telling me about it over coffee this morning

Have you played Dragon Age before? Or, generally, what genre of games do you like?

I love Origins. Wasn't at all impressed with the second one though. Don't know what they were thinking by trapping you in that city throughout the whole game and reusing pretty much all the dungeon areas. I like a lot of different stuff. I like games that are well made. Not rushed through production. That's about it. Not really a sports game guy. Really that's it.

I loved both. The first one because of story and environment, the second one because of how different it could be(didn't like reusing the dungeons over and over again though) and the combat system, and both of them because I love making game-changing choices. That scene in Dragon Age with all the political people that choose to side with you or not depending on the choices you made throughout the whole game? Glorious.

And my suggestions are Fallout, Battlefield, perhaps Witcher, Skyrim for something a lot more casual, F.E.A.R 3,  Fable 2, Awesomenauts(it's a MOBA), Bleed, most definitely the game Bleed, Naruto-Arena or Soul-Arena, and I will add other games when I think of them.

Maybe I'll buy the second Witcher. It looks fun. I can't really justify a huge huge PC buy right now because I'm about to buy Last of Us.

Okami. Everyone needs to play Okami at least once. If they have they have a ps2 or ps3.

star ocean, if you like rpg's you need to play star ocean 1 and 2, the rest sucked though.

Well if you like JRPGS I'd recommend checking out one of the White Knight Chronicle games, if you're into that.

Kingdoms of Amalur and Fallout 3 are pretty good games too, I'd recommend checking those out.

If you're looking for a fun RPG with an amazing magic system try Two Worlds 2. It'll prob be on sale for like $5 during the steam summer sale.

Some examples in this video but the video only begins to scratch the surface of the fun you can have with the magic system.

Ni No Kuni.....Great game. I just started it last weekend, and if I had to sum up the feelings it evokes in one word, that word would be.....Joy!

Really enjoying Dragon's Dogma right now

Trying to call Gamestop to see if they'll have extra copies of Last of Us before I take a cab down there and I keep getting a fax machine sound. Its the only number for them I'm finding. Frustrating.

Just got back from Gamestop. Picked up Last of Us and 3D Dot Game Heroes. Exciting.


^ That looks cool. Atlus stuff usually is. I can't remember ever being disappointed.

I'm on the fence on that game.  It keeps getting brought up as the one of the most anticipated Vita games with stellar previews and such but all the trailers make it look like a highly stylized Double Dragon.  My beat-em-up days are pretty much at an end.

I don't know. There have been some pretty great current gen beat em ups. Where the developers add a lot of depth to the genre. Dynasty Warriors for example. It's totally a beat em up, but it's also very tactical. Especially if you play with other people. I really like those games.

I've heard good things about Bayonetta too. Pretty sure that's a beat em up too.

Castle Crashers is fun too.

Double Dragon Neon actually looks fun too. I didn't even know it existed until I just started looking for this gen beat em ups.

I still love beat em ups, theyre awesome, gauntlet is one of my favorite games ever.

Did you play the 3D one? I can't remember what it was called. I always wanted to but never got around to it.

The PS3 Golden Axe was fun. A friend of mine had it.

I remember playing a gauntlet 3d that was on either ps1 or 2, I remember it beign really good.
