Recommend Video Games

The 3d Gauntlet was true to the original with enhanced graphics and style.  It was pretty sweet.  I tried Double Dragon and while they added a few nice touches like things to collect and power ups I couldn't get into it.  It's well done for the series and they really seem to have taken a lot of time keeping that one true to the series too but I think my interest is the problem.  Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was alright and is definitely a beat-em-up.  Bayonetta got a lot of good reviews but I never was tempted to do more than the demo.  More art and design choices than anything else though.  I wouldn't call it a bad or poorly made game, just a lack of interest from me.  Similar to Bayonetta but a little more action style than beat-em-up is the game Wet.  I loved the demo for pretty much the opposite reasons of why I didn't like Bayonetta.  I would call them similar genre games but the style of each is so different that only one is my cup of tea.

Does DD Neon have online multiplayer?

I did the Gamestop powerup thing while I was there today. The paid program. My roommates got it and has been pitching it to me since we moved in a couple weeks ago. It actually seems pretty worthwhile. Unless it's something I really want, like Last of Us today, I pretty much always buy used, and the deals they offer on used games through it are pretty great. I think I'd recommend it just from looking through what it's all about. It's $14 annually and you get all kinds of deals like $5/$10 off used games, and buy 1 get 1 free deals.

Lol I got the last copy of The Last of Us at my gamestop today. I forgot to preorder it because I thought it was coming out later this summer. I have yet to start it though!

I didn't explore Neon enough to see if there was multiplayer. Tried two levels on my own and done.

Last of Us is amazing so far. It wears a lot of hats and so far it does it well, which I think says a lot. I feel like most games that try to do that, like Rage for example, end up half assing them all. Last of Us pulls it off though. It's survival horror, at least to some degree, definitely horror though, has some adventure elements, some action, stealth. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous too, and the gameplay is really fun. The story had me totally engaged less than 10 minutes in. Really impressive. Just like everything by Naughty Dog.

My favorite thing so far is that you have a good amount of options for interacting with the environment and defending yourself, so you can approach situations in a lot of different ways. I just fought a group of people and I tried it a couple times in different ways and found my way. I like that.

Agreed! I am seriously enjoying it! I have shed a tear like 3 times already, and I am not a super emotional person. I find the plot very moving and believeable. And the gameplay is so creative too. I did not enjoy the Uncharted series that much, but this is different.

The intro was so amazing for so many reasons. Just done so flawlessly. I jumped like a foot when the dude taps the window that first time then takes off and Joel starts freaking out.


I really liked Uncharted too though. The third one was mediocre, but I loved the first and second ones. If not for the souls series it'd probably be my most played PS3 game. I've probably played through the campaign 5 times and I played the hell out of the multiplayer. The graphics were so gorgeous too. That level in the native village way up in the mountains was incredible. I swear I could smell the mountain air the first time I was there.
