How the matches will go?

Tournament will be by in double elimination:

○ Winner bracket - best of 3
○  Loser bracket - best of 1

〇 All finals will be best of 5 on 14th July

All matches start after bow, so you can bow, buff, grass w/e. After that if you got hit in fight while you were grassing this is your problem.

You can edit a poll into this post, if you wish to have a vote on the chain-stabbing part, so that even if people don't post they still give you the opinion on it.

No weapon buffs will mess up a HUGE number of builds. Healing miracles are not overpowered and I think should be allowed. (though not items) TWoP is okay as long as someone doesn't use pursuers with it or just fish. The hornet ring is only unfair on SOME setups. I suggest you ban it only for weapons/weapons & buffs that hit over a certain amount with it (such as max 1200)

YES to chainstabs. There are ways in and out, and they add a neat layer of depth to the prediction/reaction of a fight. Also they can only happen if you messed up and let yourself get Crit in the first place. (perhaps some parry-ripostes are not a genuine mistake so you may not totally deserve the punishment, but your opponent did do something totally awesome so s/he does deserve the reward)


Also this is like the third tournament I've seen that's put a bar on healing miracles. Is replenishment actually that much of a problem? Great Heal certainly wont actually be cast in I'd say 95% of fights due to it's rather long cast time. I guess I just don't understand the reasoning behind banning these things, as it makes faith literally just WoG (and maybe GMB if your opponent is a specific build)

I can actually Agree with Pursuers, as was demonstrated to me it's possible to manipulate it's animation and consistently have invisible pursuers going after people.

Hornet's...ehhh after the nerf it's not really been a huge issue for me but the premise of promoting 'an exciting fight' rather than 'a fishing expedition' is valid for the twitch audience.

Decided to not go in-depth into my thoughts about the rules, though I do agree with you Jan. I have hardly ever been in fights where people thought it was okay to use replenishment, even though I'd have to go on the defensive if I really wanted it to work to it's full effects(it also helps when you get back-stabbed. I have been saved multiple times by replenishment concerning backstabs and ripostes).

Also with chain-stabbing and TWoP, it works the same concerning Hornets. Both of them are a way to finish a fight fairly fast and it turns out to not be very exciting to watch.

I am going to help Gabriel with hosting.  I don't really care about the rules.  He is just hoping to rejuvenate the community a little and bring some exposure to his channel where he does 100% pvp.  He is always looking for good players to play against, so you guys should go check him out, his chat is usually pretty small and a nice and relaxing place to meetup.

He is a russian streamer and keeps his chat in english for the most part.  So there is usually music and no mic, but he participates in the chat in english with everyone else.   lovelovegabriel on the twitch

I'd say don't allow chainstabs. They make matches pretty boring, and end up ending pretty quickly. While obviously it's not an unbeatable tactic, it's just that if it's allowed, matches are gonna be just about BS fishing.

I just hope it's not half as boring as Hellsservant23's and Luffarjevels recent tournaments. Please do not go over the top with rules, try to be less biased than the previous hosts. It was ridiculous seeing all the restrictions and almost every fight became a mirror.

This tournament sounds great, SL100 sounds good. Hopefully chainstabs are allowed, since they are easy to counter, but just try to keep it to a minimum.

I guess the rules are just fine. I would be a Little against the Chainstab because if u can do it all night you will do it... But I'm looking Forward to it!

Don't allow chain backstabs, simply because this is meant to be fun for people on twitch. Otherwise I would've allowed them. Also you really should allow weapon buffs, it makes no sense whatsoever to not allow them. What, are they too strong? That's it?

Don't change the rules if this is a dueling style tournament.

No crown of dusk as it's too easy an implementation for how much it helps, though you might want to allow family masks, as they were nerfed to all hell a while ago.

I don't think these are good rules. No buffs and no healing means you just eradicated all of the miracles in the game and barely did anything to sorcery. I can understand no buffs, but why ban healing miracles? What exactly is so taboo about it that everyone puts it in the same category as items? It ain't like you can just use them and not get backstabbed

Also, since resins are being banned, it is only fair that all items are banned in order to provide use to weapons such as the gravelord greatsword for its poison effect.

Obviously they should be allowed, but even if they are, it wouldn't make this tournament worth participating in.

This thread brings a tear to my cynical eyes.

May as well just round up people in the forest and ask them to all join in a tournament with the ideas you seem to have in mind. Minus the ganking, I'd hope.

My ideas are simple. Don't ban things that don't break the game.

Things that "don't break the game" are all well and good, but many of these things have no place in actual tournaments, as it comes down to "who can get that one BS" or "who catches the other with that one attack or spell to win it in 10 seconds." Things that are commonplace in the forest have no place in tournaments formatted for duels.

It'd also be good if you didn't attempt to shut down everything the tournament creator tried to put up in absolution, as the creator is just trying to come up with rules he considers fair for most everyone.

I agree with banning the family masks and am undecided on the crown of dusk. the crown+bellowing certainly amp up dark bead too much.
Basically everything else that's marked as banned here I think should be allowed, except PERHAPS pursuers and certain combinations (such as hornet+ultra greatsword)

Bloody really didn't ask for feedback on the rules (other than the chainstabs and SL). Let's not turn this into a debate on what should be nerfed, what is OP, etc. If you don't like the rules, don't join.
