Any Good Casual Games?
Before I get endless -1's, I just want a couple fun timewasters for when Souls gets boring/frustrating. I don't really have a lot of games, but I have a few that I jump back to when Dark Souls gets annoying. I don't particularly enjoy FPS games, but if they're good I'll try them. If possible, something multiplayer/co-op, but not anything too new that may be too expensive. I'd enjoy something along the lines of a casual RPG like Fable or Skyrim, or a fun but competitive game like Battlefield. All suggestions welcome, and thanks in advance.

Never tried Dragon Age or Overlord, and never heard of Eternal Sonata. I'll look into them though. Mirror's Edge is really fun though.

Mirrors edge is freerun game.
Eternal Sonata is a Jrpg with classic music as a main element.
Also, perhaps Portal. You would love it, no one can hate it.

I'll add a recommendation for Overlord. Love that series. It's hard to lose but it's so darn funny.

I don't really like Portal all that much. It's a fun puzzle game, but it's pretty monotonous and repetitive. I'd prefer an action or an RPG over a puzzle game (not that there's anything wrong with them).

Re: Any Good Casual Games?
Well since it's all subjective I would recommend Battlefield 2 if you have a PC which isn't a potato as it probably is the best 'casual' competitive FPS which is still very popular.
It isn't hardcore but it isn't easy as hell. Has a huge modding community too.
-Battlefront 1 and 2 (for pc) are also good suggestions.
-Red Orchestra 2.
If you have a console only I guess whichever recent one between Killzone and Halo series depending on which platform you prefer or have.

I was about to say the same thing. It gives me hope that someone beat me to it.
I've been playing 3D Dot Game Heroes. Absolutely casual, but you'd probably only enjoy it if you were either my age or play a lot of retro games.

Re: Any Good Casual Games?
Well if the difficulty is set to casual the game is laughably easy and one need not pay attention to..........anything really. Its fairly tough at normal+ though, and brutal at nightmare, unless you really know what you're doing though, unless you're playing the arcane warrior/blood mage tank style (if you built it properly, if you screw it up you're going to have problems.)Teh Kitten´s Cat wrote:SirArchmage wrote:Did you just call Dragon Age casualTeh Kitten´s Cat wrote:Eternal Sonata.

Re: Any Good Casual Games?
Everyone I talk to seems to hate it, but I say Dragon Age 2 was pretty fun type game that is pick up and play.
I played through it on hard setting and was not particularly stressful (except for those DANG 1 hit kill backstab attacks from enemy rogues). Im sure on normal or casual setting it would be like watching a movie. But you do push buttons to attack unlike Dragon Age 1... so you will still feel involved.
If Dark Sector didn't have those dang "puzzles" I would recommend it also. Fun to just walk around throw a controllable spinning blade and zombies/monsters/troopers.

Re: Any Good Casual Games?
God of War quadrilogy
Any fighting game: my personal recommendations would be BlazBlue, Mortal Kombat 9 and Soul Calibur 5
Borderland 1 & 2, not exactly casual but you they're very fun and if you just wanna bang out the main quest it only takes... maybe 30 hours at a reasonable pace. After that theres plenty of extra content, the other classes, NG+ etc to keep you busy if you need it.
Kingdoms of Amalur, its SO similar to Fables gameplay its not funny, even the art style struck me as being similar. IMO gameplay, story and art are still all better than Fables but if you want a casual RPG I'd highly recommend this game.
Play it on regular if you want to blaze through the main story, Hard mode doesn't really make it that difficult but there might be a few annoyingly long fights depending on your playstyle.

Ni No Kuni. I just started it a couple of weeks ago and am completely caught up in the music, story and gmaeplay. Right now I would call it the 2013 GOTY. It is that good.

Re: Any Good Casual Games?
TLC storyline got to complex. The original is one of my favorite storylines in RPG's ever. Mostly nostalgic factor since it was the first RPG I ever played, but also because I think it's one of the most defining games of that generation. So glad there's a reboot coming up.

I love Dark Sector. Found it for $4 at Gamestop a few months ago. Such a good deal. Can't beat those low prices on good games that are a few years old. Has a lot going for it for a launch title. Good action, some horror elements, nice weapon/upgrade system, puzzles that force you to use your head, and some of the only fun I've ever had using the sixaxis motion functionality. It's easy to forget that PS3 controllers even have it these days save shaking your flashlight or reloading a weapon or some such thing.

Re: Any Good Casual Games?
How about Dragon's Dogma? I've put a few hours into it and it seems like an arcade version of skyrim w/ better monsters. Really enjoying it so far and I haven't even explored the class changing part.
