A summoning item that works in an area where the boss was killed. I don't know why they didn't have that before. There's absolutely no reason for them not to.

As long as people can't invade, I don't see why not. o.ob

So you would be able to summon them after the boss is dead? If that's the case this would actually be good for PVP too.
That way if you want to head to, say, Quelaag's room could be up to some epic invasions or duels if you wanted to make it an FC area to go to.

This kinda seems like it only has pvp implications as I fail to see how it works into pve... I mean isn't the point of summoning to beat the boss together? what would a phantom be for if the boss was dead?

yep, they should have at least one boss area where red soapstones are usable, but of course keep it a secret until discovered by players.

Yeah I wouldn't make it useable in all areas. Keeping areas like the burg open, knowing that you're experienced to know to and how to do that, is all part of the fun in making each new build.

..Like Artorias' arena? I think it already does happen from time to time, but not often as it may conflict with certain borders that are in place to stop sequence breaking. Also, what if players sommoned a player mid boss fight?

Maybe use the summoning item, where the boss is killed, to start at a different spot, and both the Human, and Phantom, can farm a bit before the boss? I guess I could see that in a way for PVE, that way you could cross borders, maybe not cut off the borders anymore if you used that item? Invasions would work a little different.. because then if they cut the borders, that means you could run away, they could hide somewhere etc.
I'd like to see them cut the borders though for PVE, having to go to each area and only can summon when the boss is alive, I like the idea a bit, but I'd like to be able to say summon someone in the Undead Burg.. and take them to the Depths, or take them to the Capra Demon, etc. Ya know?
Maybe shut off invasions only for that... but then that would be a game breaker, and make it WAY to easy for human forms to avoid those nasty invasions.

ya. Would be a great way to host duels with more diverse fighting areas. Would have to fog gate the area as if the boss was there. Only downside would be gankers may take advantage of a few red signs.

I agree there's no reason not to- plus it makes red soap safe from gankers.
Make it so that you can only grab red soap signs and duels in boss arenas beckon- I've always wanted to duel inside O&S arena
I guess that might be 'too easy' for the sadists at FROM who probably want uncertainty in invasions and red soap dueling

I feel like they did this in the DLC with Kalameet. The area was open to summoning and invasions once you triggered the necessary events to open a new, optional boss. I think that this was a nice way of opening a large area for PvP that didn't impede in the main quest.
