Anor Londo is fun, but my favorite place is The Ash Lake. Very private.^^
The painted world is nice too. Friendly people there.

Blighttown is the best, the fresh swampy air does good for the lungs.

My favourite place in general is Anor Londo but for PvP it's Sen's Fortress.

Ash lake.
When everything is not trying to kill me, that is; very peaceful, isolated place.

Re: Favorite place in the game?
I think the most peaceful place is the area where the Sanctuary Guardian boss fight takes place. Frogs croaking (in a good way), crickets chirpping, very soothing.

For pure design, Sen's and The Depths because I love traps and smart environments with well placed enemies. For atmosphere, Painted World and the Forest.

Dukes Archives. The environment itself is not my favorite, but when you first exit the cell and go into the light the graphics are absolutely stunning. Sometimes it's like seeing your character for the first time.
For PVP however, Forest, hands down. Gankers are so rewarding to defeat.

Darkroot Forest.
I was always disappointed with how sparse the forests were in Oblivion.
Too bad you're not forced to spend more time in it unless PVPing.
I like the fact that trees actually get in your way and you have to plan your path accordingly.

The Ashlake is simply stunning. It was amazing seeing it for the first time after dieing 100 times trying to collect every item in the great hollow and finally making it through.
Oh the humilation of finally making it to the bottom laughing in joy and then attacking the big mushrooms because I thought they would be weak and easy...
And then the Hydra chase in The Ashlake

Firelink cause I can roast my marshmellows without someone trying to kill me or stab me in the back
Also, it has the BEST view of them all.

Demon Ruins, its pulls at my heart strings for some reason. Maybe because you can see the abandoned city there and try to imagine what once was. plus the capras are my homies lol.

Re: Favorite place in the game?
For atmosphere, the Oolacile Township haunts my nightmares. And for one specific reason: the screaming children. I didn't notice it at first, but when I turned my surround system up and heard the distinctive sound of small children screaming in terror, knowing the lore about that place, my blood froze. Still the most unnerving place to go through.
Design...I'd say I still love the Undead Burg/Parish. It brings me back to those first experiences with Demon's Souls. I remember the sound of scavenger birds picking at carrion...no music or effects, just crows. Freaky.

Re: Favorite place in the game?
Along time ago when I was still new to Dark Souls, I stumbled upon the painted world. Not really the nicest place to go, the inhabitants weren't very nice, the weather made my legs feel numb, and there were crazy unattractive half-naked bird women attacking me. Needless to say I didn't like the place, even a little. However, while I was leaving the hell-forsaken place I met her; Priscilla.
With her long silver hair, fluffy tail, and shiny scythe I instantly fell in love. After having light conversation I convinced her to come with me back to Lordran, so we could have a jolly good time. Once we left via conveniently placed hole that leads to nowhere we had the most romantic time of our lives. We would have co-op in Anor Londo killing the gods, invasions against trolldads in the forest, and the most romantic walks on Ash Lake. Our time together was great, but unfortunately brief.
Fourteen days in while we were killing big chest Gwynevere she stopped me while we were leaving. She explained to me everything about how she had to return to her duties at the painted world. I insisted on her staying but she nodded with tears in her eyes. I, being the chosen undead that I was tried to hold my tears back; but to no avail and we ended up crying and holding each other for hours.
When I'm not killing gankers and hackers in the burg with my elite skills, I take a break and head down to Ash Lake to remember the good times we had. Sometimes, when I'm staring out at the open lake I start to tear up knowing that I'll never see her again because I'm sure as hell not going back to the Painted World.
So... yeah... I like the painted world.

Every single time I get there it just feels like I made it home.

^That's not a heart.
Yeah I really like the design of Anor Londo. It looks cool at night, but I prefer it with the sunset. I just wish you could explore the whole city, although that'd be a game in itself judging by the size of it.
