Wait a second that's right, the Slimes do haha. That's a lot less dangerous of a route, and fast if you have pyromancy. Also I believe the Balder Knights drop them as well.

It would help a lot if you took a quick run into Sens Fortress and grabbed the gold serpent ring

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
We beat her last night
What does the ring do?
Sadly I don't have any pyromancy :/ But 4 or 5 two handed swings of my Claymore takes them out
I'm just afraid of the frogs down there, I can't afford to be cursed and lose health :L :c

Well the Great Hollow is a completely option area. If you killed Q and rang the bell and have also Rang the bell above the Gargoyle's, Sen's Fortress is your next destination. It is across the bridge next to the bonfire above the Blacksmith Andre.
The Golden Serpent Ring in there hidden behind a wall broken by a boulder, it increases the chances of finding items like humanity does.

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
If you really want to farm titanite, yes. However I might advise pushing on and at least opening the Shortcut in Sen's. Sen's is another place that kills a lot of new players given its many traps, so you might want to make it easier on yourself when you get back.

It just makes it so you don't move slowly in water, you'll still be poisoned in the swamp.

You don't run into frogs if you're in the slime hallway. Nothing to worry about! A good idea is to kill the slimes and the rats downstairs in each run since the rats can drop humanity. Also, if you met the Undead Female Merchant, she can sell you a purging stone to cure curse in case you ever need it.

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
I lucked my way down the correct path to the bonfire I needed, the one with an Undead with a torch at the door and 6 slimes in the hallway, bought Fireball off the Pyromancer I saved before and just killing the slimes in 1 hit, so far with no humanity and that serpent ring I'm getting 1 in 6 slimes dropping a large titanite/a green titanite :3

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
Got the Black Knight Sword, the damage on it is amazing, it does more damage than my Raw Claymore +1, the only problem with it is the power attack is painfully slow, you draw yourself back slowly then lunge with the blade in a thrust.
Pros - it does 220 damage with no powerups
Cons - pretty bad power attack
What do you think I should do? :3

That is a pretty powerful weapon, at high levels a lot of people still use it. You just won't find yourself using the Power attack practically ever given its slow swing. The only issue is its weight so you'll have to be set up with making room armor wise to hold it.

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
The Green titanite is used for upgrading weapons up varying paths, Divine 1-5, Fire 1-5, and magic 1-5 if I remember correctly. Divine for high faith users, Fire removes stat scaling so it is just a damage increase, and magic for int users.
Pretty much any weapon in the game can be used at end game as long as you level it up.

30 Large titanite, 22 Green and around 80000 souls, I'd say that's a fairly easy farming place, each run through takes between 30 seconds and a minute :3

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
Another good one is the forest, if you are hollow. You can use a pathing error to cause the Forest Hunter NPC's to fall to their death, but you'll need to buy the crest of Artorias first.

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
Update : Chilling in Anor Londo, the double boss fight has me stumped, been at it for ages but eventually, eventually I'll get there
Wearing the Silver Knight set since the Black Iron set is too heavy, still got my Claymore +10, almost turned it into lightning though but decided not to.
Needing Twinkling titanite to upgrade most of my gear though I don't know where any of that is

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
You can buy it for a hefty price from the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo. He can be found by going up the steps in the room before the boss. There will be a window, that leads to another item. And near that is another passage across a bridge and then down a bunch of stairs. That is the Giant Blacksmith.

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
Getting seriously hacked off with Anor Londo's bosses, getting them killed on their own is easy, when one powers up I always die. Even tried it with 3 people (me and two others) and even then it messed up. One of them had a golden summon sign and he wasn't even that good! :c
Had to quit it before I put my fist through the tv, the worst of it is, one of the guys who tried to help me, just before my run I done it with him and we got them killed in his world :/

Hey guys bit of a problem here - trying to upgrade a Falchion to +10 but even at the giant blacksmith he's only letting me get to +5, I don't know why, I need it to +10 for Quelaag's sword.
Having a mini meltdown :/

Re: The Ballad of the Newbie
The Giant Blacksmith Does Boss Weapons, Lightning Weapons, and Crystal Weapon Modifications. Andre the Blacksmith Does Divine, Occult, and Standard Modifications. You'll need to go back to Andre.
