Chaos Blade

anyone have any experience with the chaos blade? is it worth the hp loss? been trying to find some youtube pvp using the sword with little success. i have a +5 chaos washing pole which is my current fav, but i like the dex scaling of the chaos blade.

Cant be buffed. Thats my problem with it. pretty sure its stronger and faster than the uchi, and has longer reach than the iaito but it cant be buffed. and its heavy. 6 pounds for a backup weapon? not happening. So yes its really good if you knock how to use it and its definitely worth the minor hp loss (imo) but if you use weapon buffs there are alternatives i find preferable.

TL:DR For pure dex, yes, for anyone else, no.

With 40 dex and 10 humanity it will dish out 450 physical damage. Can't be buffed, HP loss (20) with every successful hit.

appreciate the info but on the 2nd two videos the weapon does not have the chaos symbol next to the pic of the sword. kind of threw me off. must be a difference between the Japanese and NA versions of the game.

I find it's a really fun weapon to use and is more powerful than equivalent elemental uchi whilst also having a longer reach.

however, downsides are the HP loss in PvP still happens if on your screen you hit the guy but it does no damage, you still get the HP loss, which I'm a bit disappointed about :|

However I find it's great if your playstyle likes to dodge around a lot and mix it up with magic (Pyro is your best bet) and 2H also has surprising stun lock abilities for a katana.

It's also my personal favourite weapon on the game, but just because it's cool, not because it's a bit too good like the MLGS or BKGA

There are no symbols next to it. The one with the symbol in the first video is a chaos upgraded uchigatana afaik.
I love the one handed heavy attack of this sword, visually impressive like the Iaito. The biggest problem with this sword is running low on health, where two more attacks will kill you, and your choice is to either switch to a backup weapon or fish for backstabs/parries (which won't drain your health).

I made this today and I absolutely love it. Looks cool and i think the strongest katana, don't quote me on that. It's stronger than my iaito and uchi. Like everyone else said, the hp lose is the only downside. I think in skilled hands, u could do extremely well with it. To me it's more of a tactical weapon, not some regular joe blow swinging sword.

Its worth the loss its an amazing wep for a pure dex build

I think another point worth noting is you can make it easily viable for PvE as you do not take damage from the blade if you execute a riposte or a backstab, something which you can do to many if not most of the enemies in the game.

Yea but theres still a downside, you lose health for phantom hits too

I see a lot of people use this wep with the miracle that regenerates your hp

I used it alot today and the strong attack is crazy, it knocks down an opponent, has great reach, looks awesome I totally forgot about hp loss and won every fight.

I love dex builds and this prompted me to start making one for the chaos blade. Wanderer start 60V/12ATT/40E/20S/40D rest base. I made the sword last night and I like the moveset/range but jeez - has anyone actually managed to land a hit in PVP with the 2h R2? It's just asking to be bs'd into oblivion, I'm gonna have to work on the timing but I can't see many occassions arising to use it.

i Have lots of times, works best when there knocked down and you can attack when they're standing up

toast i've also used if just when they're running around, the delayed attack confuses them in culmination with lag

though i have to warn you i do use magic with it a lot, not sure if magics looked down upon in FC anymore since iv been gone lol (as the swords one specifies none)

dead, not my fault i have bad connection, i was playing with a guy yesterday, and i'd hit him and it would take 3-4 seconds for the damage to show up and for his character to react :|

I just have to adjust a bit more than most people.. lol

what are the stats for your chaos blade build?

Good example of effective use of the Chaos blade is PeevePeeverson. There is probably better examples but this is the one i am content with..
