You can try to buy redemption from Oswald. Who, if you don't already know, will appear in the bell tower after you defeat the Bell Gargoyles. I'm not sure if it would work or not for NPC's who aren't associated with covenants, but its worth a try.

As long as you pay Oswald all npcs will love you again. That in mind, I am still to scared of Andrei to hit him.

Yep I got trolled by an orange message on my first play through (never played demons/dark souls before). The message said "try kicking", in front of Andre. I thought to myself, "Oh! Something awesome must happen if I kick this guy!". he proceeded to punch the **** out of me about 30 times before I finally killed him. He dropped the crest so i though i was supposed to kill him. Was not until I looked into upgrading my weps did I realize my mistake. That toon is still suck on O&S in anor londo lol.

One thing to note, he doesn't show up until you ring the bell after the gargoyles.
I had a game where I killed Queelag and the gargoyles without ringing the bells, and he never appeared until after the one above is rung.
