Also is anyone pre ordering it? i will decide after the demo. I personally think this game is going to be great.

Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
Anyone else excited about this game/demo? i already have an idea of what class im going to be and what classes i will have my pawns be. I was thinking of making a Tarkus pawn, but 3 teenage warrior princesses sounds pretty good too.
Also is anyone pre ordering it? i will decide after the demo. I personally think this game is going to be great.

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
you know the demo is going to be up today right? and you can transfer your character from the demo to the retail copy when it comes out. i think it might already be on xbl but it wont be on psn till around 5pm-9pmish which sucks.....

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
I watched my roomie play it, it's not long at all but it does show off neat features. I'm certainly going to rent it, but I don't see how you are transfering over character data, unless they are using the 'build' part as your class selection which is quite misleading.

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
aah screw you guys with xbl. i have to wait till tonight to play it because psn updates at night. Ive looked into this game for a while and know what to expect. people expecting dark souls or skyrim might still enjoy it but they wont get what they expected.

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
You aren't missing out on to much, it's only 2 segments that lasts maybe 30-40 minutes overall. I think they mostly wanted to show off the game mechanics and they certainly are nice.

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
two quests is a pretty decent demo, also you get to see the complete character design system which i think looks really cool. if im able to farm rift crystals and transfer them to the retail game that would kick ***.

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
I didn't see any options to farm, the mission was quite straight forward, but the quest was open area it seemed, but the demo had it squared off. There was a riftstone in the mission that automatically gave you two people and that was it, the quest already had a full outfit. I am also unsure, but believe it is possible, if your custom character and pawn, can only make one, will jump into the mission/quest. Both used different characters when my roommate did his playthrough, however he had not touched the character creation at that time.

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
yea what i mean is the currency in dragons dogma is rift crystals. i was wondering if you kept doing the quests with your main pawns if you required rift crystals and if you could farm them by re playing the quests. im thinking no but that would be cool.

40 mins = a good length demo. I remember the days when PS demos were like 5 minutes long

No...I think its just the char/pawn that carries over...Not gonna be able to farm anything for sure though.
As far as the gameplay I was disappointed with the whole thing really...Being able to climb on bosses Shadow of the Colossus style was pretty cool though.

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
^^^ you unlock and upgrade your jobs to get a lot of skills/moves that im sure bring a lot to the table. from what ive seen in the live stream with the creators it looks awesome with tons of variety to the combat.
but i think customizing your pawn and main character and searching for the perfect group of adventurers will be where the fun is. also although they have been showing tons of gameplay something tells me theres some major surprises to be had with the full retail version.
on of the main thing from gameplay vids ive seen is how you deal with the dark. it really gets PITCH BLACK you cant see anything without a lantern and even then its worse then tomb of the giants darkness wise.

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
damn just got a chance to play it and it is *** short. not even 40min more like 25 and that was me trying to take as much time as i could. the game does seem awesome though and im buying it day 1 for sure. i just wish they included more in the demo like what the towns will be like and dealing with the pawns. it doesnt even let you use the character you design which kinda pissed me off.

that might be a sign in itself that those parts are less developed than the rest of it. I'm usually rather skeptical of Demos to be honest.

Re: Dragon's Dogma Demo Today!
It's a bit short, but I'm really enjoying it. Fighting normal enemies is pretty boring, but the Chimera and Griffon are pretty cool fights.
