Two Things I noticed... Empty Two Things I noticed...

Post by ViralEnsign_ Fri Apr 27, 2012 5:01 am

The first is about my master Nito. He has a smaller coffin next to his own. Who or what was it it. It's about half the size of his and resting up against the angled wall next to him.

Was it Pinwheel? Or maybe Vamos? I'm having trouble figuring out what its purpose is. Also does anyone think that Vamos may be a reference to Lovecraftian Literature. The old ones were supposed to be chaotic gods and vamos has the Cthulu like appendages on his face and also makes Chaos weapons.

The second is about the Undead Asylum. When you exit/enter from the cliff area there is a raised section of land on a column sticking up near Snuggly. On it there seems to rest a strange tablet like object. Is it possible to get there. Whats its meaning.

Am I just getting paranoid or is it lorefever?

Earlier there was some speculation going on about the furtive pygmy having a relation to Nito, considering the rite of kindling being the furtive pygmy's soul, and it being found with a rogue pinwheel, a disciple of Nito's. So could be the furtive pygmy's coffin?

In which case, hes no longer in the coffin.

Would now be a bad time to state that I remember seeing a website that stated that you needed the pendant in order to talk to the pygmy? Like it basically said that you could speak with the pygmy if you had the pendant, and the site was an in depth strategy guide. Maybe hes in the game somewhere.

yeah i saw that rumor on IGN forums back in like october i think. pretty sure someone from this forum commented on it idr who hahah. someone said something about the pendant being the pygmy's or would somehow jog the pygmy's memory, allowing you to talk to him. and there were no "seek guidance" hints found in the tomb of giants, so there's a strong possibility everything has not been found in that area. I wouldn't be surprised, the place is a freaking tomb of giants and it actually seems pretty small when you look at it. I might go through it soon with my TV and game brightness all the way up and see if it helps me penetrate the darkness better actually...

I'm not sure about the coffin or or tablet in the Asylum but I've watched the cutscene for Vamos a ton of times (hint....if you invade the catacombs as a DW and the host hasn't fallen in his tomb yet you can trigger the Vamos scene by doing it yourself.....not that I do that to lots of people.....nope.....not me).

Anyway....back on track, it looks to me like Vamos forged himself a beard out of small metal plates, possibly to emulate one he had in "life." Kinda like a scale mail beard. Which of course I want.

I don't blame you, it would be bad as, and protective. Or at least bad as. So he was a formerly-bearded blacksmith with ties to an ancient royal family. What other royal families do we definitely know about?

Gwyn has a beard, so does Andre who was originally a member of his family. I think the god of war statue has a kinda beard.

Andre was originally a member of... Gwyn's family...? Andre is from Astora though... he isn't divine himself, right?

Originally, it was cut. Although maybe it was not entirely cut. Astora is a land of knights who believe in the fire, a nice place for the god of war to hide. Also he oculd lie, or he could move around a lot. Plus he punches like a god.

I'm going to paste in a response I made in Acidic's thread:

Hm, I wonder if the Barbarians aren't From's take on the traditional
dwarves. As you pointed out, they share similarities with Vamos. Both
use pickaxes, Vamos' helm is similar to traditional dwarven armor, the
barbarians are possibly former residents of Izalith, and given their
    location may have mutated.

Plus, Vamos has a beard and is rather stout, so he strikes me as a tall dwarvish figure.

I think I was overly tired that day, as that seems like a random theory on my part, but what do you guys think? It probably wouldn't ACTUALLY mean anything, but it might help connect some dots or something.

Nananananana. Its that dwarven armour is traditionally based off barbarian culture. not the other way around.

Yeah, I know that. I know that the traditional dwarves are almost carbon copies of Scandinavian culture (exaggerating a bit). I was merely pointing that out as an additional bit of info that helps cement the relation.

It's alright pal. I just noticed that my last comment could be interpreted as snobbish, which I apologize for. I assure you, I was not at all angry happy
