That One Piece Of Gear...

Whats the one piece of gear(armor,weapon,ring) that you have on all your characters that you just HAVE to get?

For me it's RoFaP, I mean seriously all the bonuses you get from that thing makes it just too good for me to pass up on. I'm always eager to say hi to my buddy Lautrec :face:

All my non-fast roll builds have DWGR. I always try to have RoFAP, but sometimes I just have to choose Havel's ring. None of my builds use elemental weapons...

Edit: That's not true, Quelmara uses Chaos Server, but is because it's too awesome.

Anyway, my one piece of gear choice is shared between the FaP Ring and the Homeward Bone. I just HATE backtracking.

Grass crest shield.


Used to be rofap but thankfully I broke the habit and never use it anymore. It's a trap and limits so many other things you can do with the slot. Other than really low level playthroughs I don't find it necessary anymore. I prefer havel's and have the option to take it off along with my breastplate if I choose to use another ring for a short time.

I'm not going to lie, I get pretty irked when I don't get a Fang Boar Helm to drop.

Atm the Astoran straight sword. I've never got the drake sword and that baby makes everything so easy.

Demon Great Hammer, i love that thing. i just like having it even on toons that cant use it.

Eagle Shield+15, I just love hiding behind it, then .... WHAM ! Next please

I only have one character so.......the gear I usually use?

Agreed, I have two faith heavy builds I'm working on and I am in love with that thing.

This, along with I ALWAYS must have one of Quelaag's boss weapons and the Ring of favour. All three of these are mandatory on all my builds. (though I don't even use the boar helm )

Edit: Also I forgot I always have to have thorolund talisman on my builds. I have heal on every last build I've ever made due to my tendency to do levels for others

the crest shields.

I second the Crest Shields and the +15 Eagle. PvE is all about versatility.

The EAGLE Shield starts great , is awesome, i like to hire phantoms to help co-op avels ring right in the burg b4 the demon. Is also a must have early.

Gottah have my Halberd and/or G.Halberd. I used that halberd at RELEASE, man. I liked it better than my Drake Sword. I upgraded it as much as I could XD... +3.

I must ALWAYS at least have the Grass Crest Shield on me, I love the look and effect of that thing so damn much.

It was OK on my strength build, but it's amazing on my Dex.

Elite Knight armour. Doesn't matter what build I'm using, that armour is getting equipped.

I try, always, to implement myself.

Of all seriousness, the one piece of gear that I like to use for all the characters I start with is Sunlight Blade and Toxic Mists.

Pharis' Hat +10 Jus' Saiyan, or sometimes... My baby - the heater shield.

Havel's & Hawk Ring, Composite Bow, Fire Uchi & Gravelord Sword.

I'm not sure what exactly the RoF&P does, is it that good? I've never equipped it because if you take it off it's gone and I don't like the idea of having one ring slot committed to one ring for the whole game.

20% boost to maximum health, equipment load and stamina.

Balder Shield. Out of all of my builds, that's the one item I use the most. I don't use the Eagle shield on all of my builds.

I know it's a trap, and I know that normally the slot the Charred Ring/Covenant of Artorias occupies means the Cloranthy Ring is out of some fights; but that small, small health/stamina boost has saved me SO many times.
