Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Only point is to face the UR dragon, be able to keep levelling up each vocation and get all the trophies/achievements.
I agree though, having no difficulty change in it really annoyed me.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
I killed the ur-dragon offline last night and didn't get anything upgraded. So if it is possible, it may just be a % chance for each item, like a regular dragon, or maybe nothing at all. I was having better luck with dragonforging by killing the ones near the two exits from the quarry once you get to sorta endgame, running back and forth and resting at the camp on the west side. There's also a wyrm in the platform level below the entrance to the ur-dragon that is easy to get to as well.
Another thing is that carrying one of teach of the tears (dragon, wyrm, wyvern I think?) noticeably increased the good gear drops I got from the chests all through the everfall.

@rin no idea, never gotten far with those vocations. i'm mainly playing sorcerer atm.
@befowler having all tears help so much with drops.
also on a fun note, the unique wyrm and drake speak english(not sure about the wyvern) instead of the normal latin/dragon language thing.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
offline ur dragon only has a 25% chance of forging 3 star gear. Its less for 1 and 2 star gear. Online is 100%.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Does anyone know how to get the king bay leaves in the witchwood? I've checked some wikis but none seem to have helpful info -- are they somewhere behind those sleeping golems near the witch hut? If so, how do I wake those things up?

Not sure where that is. Did I miss a quest or something? I've been all over the witchwood repeatedly.

After you do that notice board quest to give selene some herb, some time later you'll need to walk around gran soren fountain and you'll hear people talking about her, the witch. After you hear them a new quest pops up and you go there again, and you'll be able to get to the grave mentioned before.

There's a quest where you randomly go check up on whether she is okay and you talk to her dead grandmother's apparition... Around there are the leaves.

B careful though. The selene quest has some random time limit you can miss and prevent you from doing it. I know, I had it happen.

^That confused me too. Yay for no repercussions. Then again, is the story really what you are playing for?

Yeah, I never got a quest to talk to her grandmother, although I did do some other ones with the witch (herb ale? And some escort quests I think). So I guess I can't get any king bay leaves to upgrade equipment or solve the quest I have now to...get king bay leaves. Smooth, Capcom, real smooth.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
So I'm a little slow on the uptake here, but it turns out that you can hire the pawns of any of your console friends for free. So if you see some crazy high level pawn, just send its owner a friend request (right from the hire menu) and if they accept you can get some great allies. The only downside -- besides your pawns sometimes obliterating things before you even get there -- is that you seem to earn less XP the higher your combined levels. But even that doesn't matter in the long run since you can kill things a lot faster to balance it out. Recently hired a level 162 ranger that can kill dragons all by himself. It's fun to watch him spaz out on them.
