Why are we all assuming its havel as opposed to one of his men ? hes tough at that level and all but considering ornstien was alot stronger and havel was considered a pretty damn tough guy I dont see it. also it says his men wore the ring not him.

I brought up the same point, and someone proved it was him, but I don't remember what it was...

Something about the key saying it was him who was locked up.

That's what I thought, but the key just says "a hero", and I recall it being an absolute, undeniable FACT that it was Havel in the tower...

Havel is easy to beat, doesn't mean he is not tough. He could go toe to toe with anything that was slow enough to let him hit it.

And just because he is havel doesn't necessarily mean he was a great fighter, just the allfather.

Someone gave me some compelling evidence that they were actually the same thing.

And I doubt that he would be one of his men, the armor is "Havel's" armor and "Havel's" ring.

Actually Havel didnt wear his ring. His ring was given to his warriors because his armour was so heavy, he could wield it without it.
Also please present this evidence as the situation is so unlikely.

I have my own theory about how Havel got Locked in the tower. I've seen the Epicnamebro Lore video about this and i've even messaged him on this theory myself. We all know Artorias went to the abyss and assumedly turned to side with the Kings. The only two in Gwyns forces that share the whole heavy "persona" are Havel and Artorias. I think the reason that Artorias turned was so he could take on his rival Havel. Artorias kills Havel, and he goes undead at which point Artorias locks him in the tower, hence the sarcasm in the watchtower key description.

That theory sounds unlikely as Artorias would have had the other 3 knights to be competitors with before Havel but we'l know for sure when the DLC comes out.

I get what you are saying but if you do the comparison, Orenstein was the spear expert, Gough was the Long shot, Ciaran was the assassin and Artorias was the heavy weapons. The only person in Gwyns forces that stood as a rival in his field is Havel. You find Ciaran's Hornet ring at Artorias' grave meaning that possibly sometime after, Ciaran confronts Artorias and even though Epicnamebro suggests that she could've been Artorias' lover it could equally be true for Havel. There might've even been a love rivalry there between Havel and Artorias. Either way its all heavy speculation.

I like this idea that Havel isn't the one in the tower. Makes sense his men had to wear the ring and he didn't. Which means Havel died in Anor Londo probably since that's where we get his stuff.

But they were hidden in a chest. Why were they there? If anything, that armor we find is for one of his soldiers.

Then why is the 'havel' that we find wearing the ring if he shouldn't need it?

How do we know he's wearing it? Does ornstien get more of a crit damage when he hits us when we attack? I don't think so... but, that may be true, so that's not a very good example.

We find the ring of the first born on a hollow corpse by a statue. He's obviously not that corpse. Just because someone or something may carry something doesn't mean they're wearing it.

Plus, shouldn't there only be ONE dragon tooth?

Oh my gosh, I cannot read that... Maybe someday or something something something. Anyway, I think it's a time change thingy. How else would we get his armor? There's a lot of time crap in Dark Souls.
