Scimitar vs Falchion

looks like I'm being outnumbered because of the FAME.
You see, everyone votes falchion because, even if they never used any curved sword in PVP, they already fought someone using the Falchion, but never the Scimitar.

Now I say go with the Scimitar for the SURPRISE effect. You could even fool people, making them think that you has a Knife in hand, and sundently they lose 1k damage in 3 swings of a buffed monster

To be honest, it doesn't matter to me too much now, I'm just gonna farm and make loads of them (I'm making them crystal). They're both pretty effective, similar power, similar reach (the difference is tiny) and again swing speed is similar too. There's not much at all between them really.

looks like it's a lot easier to get the scimitar though so I'll probably be using that more, if that's any consolation car

I'd go with whatever looks best with the rest of your setup. anything is deadly if used right.

Pretty much Yarxov, Falchion looks better but I've only got like 2 of those while I've got 5/6 scimitars.. I'll just use both they'll all get broken at some point anyway

Why not just +15 one as a backup?

My +15 weapon is the Balder Side Sword, which I much prefer

However yeah, the all crystal thing is the Noble knight's specialisation I helped make- the crystal seekers. Your weapon and shield have to be crystal.

But I'm cheating with the shield having the crystal ring shield cus it's cool and the BSS aint practical to have loads of crystal copies of it obviously.

Haha, BSS farming would be a nightmare.
Crystal shield as in THE Crystal Shield, or can you somehow upgrade a shield to crystal?
gotta love the actual Cystal Shield, 100/60/80/80 defense is the best in game imo.

Theres a slot 2 for that. Shield bash is cool too, that and kicking lets you interrupt attacks.

As in the Crystal ring shield... lol the one from the moonlight butterfly? Ever since the patch does it not exist anymore? I don't have the strength to use the actual crystal shield...

and yeah, but it's all about image on Dark Souls 8) Also I never parry in PvP so that's fine.

oh I see... I'm not sure if you can upgrade a shield to crystal... I might have words with dough about that if you can't I'll go check the wiki.

May have helped out the class there (I personally didn't want crystal weaponry/shields but dough wanted them soooo )

Edit: You can, it brings up the stability even higher than regular +15 takes it, suppose there's some advantage if it's a shield you can get loads of like knight shield or balder shield.

You can make a shield crystal. There was some debate on what happened when a crystallized shield breaks and if the crystal path would finally be useful.

what does happen when a crystallised shield breaks? Does it's stabililty and damage reduction go down or what?

Lol, someone needs to a do broken equipment run! 50% phys block, 50% damage on your weapon? Almost no armor? quite a challenge indeed.

I havent used the scimitar, but so far Im hating the falchion. Range is too small for me.
