Re: The Elder Scrolls
That's sort of my point haha. He's probably the most important character in all of Elder Scrolls. Essentially, he's the reason the world exists.
But I imagine at some point they'll retcon him into the Nord version, since in Skyrim they put the Nord version of him in the game which is confusing as hell unless that is the real version of him. Which means creation had another means and the lore has already been retconed. So, Dwemer never died out, Dunmer never were created, etc.
Plus there is one of their earliest retcons, Argonians. They used to be humans.

nope, I hate oblivion. Not because its bad, but its just so much less awesome than morrowind. So why bother, I can just play morrowind.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
Aw, Skare, that is a little bit down, don't ya think.
Here, I have bought 3 2L Cokes today... I still have on left. It tastes ever so sweet. I love sugar, it can be sweet and sour, and is known to do what all things of acidicy does...
Chews the Base Products
But Yes, Eldar Scrolls may receive a play from me in the future... depends on how I want to die, by water or by troll. Can't really choose what, though.
It's complicated.

Of course; The Map is too small, the equipment and stats are too easy and core, the game is utterly easy already with the save feature it has, which can be done anywhere at anytime (With a few exceptions). The enemies are usually either The Undead or the Tunnel Elves, and others are second to none in popularity... Dragons are cool, if you can find them, but they either attack with melee or use a breath attack, not using much in any other voice move...
Ya... Oblivion was better, only because of its greater mass, and other features that I appreciated better. Hell, going into an Ayleid Ruin always had either Goblins, Mythical Creatures, Animals, Necromancers and Undead, bandits, Marauders, Conjurers and Daedra, Pure Undead, Undead and Vampires (with wolves), Animals, or a combination of the sort.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
To me, Skyrim feels like a hundred miles wide, but only an inch deep.
I just can't place my finger on what's exactly the point of the game, apart from looking pretty!
Gotta say, Morrowind was awesome.

I love that analogy. Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
The fact that most of the game is just R1 span, as I've always said Skyrim is actually pretty difficult on the highest setting, but not challenging. It just kills you with over powered enemies when you are stuck with a poor combat system. Nothing sucks more than going through a leveled dungeon at level 20, then at the end fighting a Dragon Priest that one shots you, so you have to walk all the way back out and wait till you are level forty to come back and challenge him, then get loot for a level 20.

The thing that was the worst for me was the preponderance of loading screens. Go in the inn - wait for the game to load. Go into a dungeon - wait for the game to load. Delve deeper into the dungeon - wait for the game to load. Wait/Sleep - wait for the game to load.
It's just too much.

big, dynamic world=lots of load times. I think current gen has spoiled people. Remember when you could tell the game to start loading, then go make ramen and get back before it was finished? Then you died, because your jump wasn't pixel perfect, and it had to load again.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
I sunk countless hours into Morrowind.
Never played oblivion.
Skyrim looked so awesome that I got really excited and pre-ordered it.
Then Dark Souls came along. After playing that for a month, I got skyrim and played it for probably 15-20 hours. Initially I was extremely disappointed by the melee combat, so I went with archery & magic, which I thought was pretty damned fun! However, what Tolvo mentioned about getting thru a dungeon with no problems until u reach some unkillable dreadlord whatever that two-shots you...well that annoyed the hell out of me! Then came the glitched quests, particularly one in Riften that I cannot close to this day. That really put Skyrim to the sword for me.
Maybe one day I'll go back, but I imagine I'd have to be REALLY bored!

Big, yes. Dynamic? Not even close. Skyrim's world is void and lifeless.
