    THAT!
    This so much.

    RPGs where:

    - the main character is a 21 year old angsty teenager
    - the main characters idilic village is destroyed by the bad guy right after you go run an errand outside of town for 3 years
    - the main characters parents are DEAAAAAAAAAD! instead the mayor raises him
    - the mayor almost dies in the sacking of the village.
    -
you party up with the main characters love intrest and are subjected to amazing cut scenes until she is kidnapped
    - the only way to stop evil is with some sort of crystal or object or amulet
    - theres a bad guy who turns out to be a good guy (albeit a ****)
    - in an act of bravery, your favorite character sacrifices himself (and all the good weapons you gave him) to save you.
    - after you beat the final boss he comes back in not one, but TWO FINAL FORMS!
I have to say The Legend of Dragoon does a lot of this (bolded the changes) but its stil the best game yo uwill ever play. Its on PSN now, get it!

"Alright men, we've got him surrounded! There's like seven of us, are you guys ready to gang up on him all at once?"

*Everyone gets killed and the hero takes no damage*

This is also something I hate if it supposed to be plot driven.

Especially if you cant actually do it. I remember a friend was describing a devil may cry cutscene and once he finished went on to say how easily you die in the game.

AC is one of the biggest perpetrators of this...Jesus christ those cut scenes, some of the silliest things I've ever seen in a game.

What QTE were in MGS4? I just remember being able to look at certain things, or get flashbacks.

This isn't really a bad idea as much as it's funny but when the hero can run through bullets like he's playing Touhou, but everyone else might as well be magnets.

    Catering to idiots and unskilled.

This may be a good way to make money yes but what's actually happening is that 12 year olds are playing COD and learning things they should not know until they're at least 16. Not to mention people really suck at gaming nowadays, Souls players being one of the few exceptions.

Having to spend hours looking for one item just so you can complete the quest. I'm doing this currently in Skyrim in a tomb called Valthume. It's an 'opaque vessel' I'm after. I've got 2 out of 3. My eyeballs are hanging out on stalks, I've been round that bloody place so many times. I'm beginning to think it's a glitch.

Glitches in Skyrim? Welp, that's a new one.

Yeah, which brings me to another bad idea:

    - Not enough bug/glitch testing. It's not only a problem Skyrim has; Dark Souls' glitches are kinda getting out of control too.

But in some cases especially physics glitches/bugs in open world games can be seen as valuable game components that add some hilarity to it. happy Depends on how you look at it of course.

ahahahah, I don't get how all those listed things really compare to real issues.. thats just like a pet hatred silly

Also in terms of glitches and bugs, there's a difference between a glitch you have the option of exploiting or not so it is possible for it to not effect you, and glitches that are everywhere and can wreck your game, like those on skyrim.

Of course Serious there should never be unwanted stuff in a game, but I was just pointing out that on the other hand without some physics glitches/bugs I would have had a few laughs less in my life...

lol, I've never noticed any serious bugs in GTA4 or RDR.. :| Some bugs are funny though, but I was mainly talking about the annoying ones where you can't turn in a quest.. or a major character falls through the floor silly

Skyrim has some hilarious physics bugs, but when the dragon I have to kill gets stuck in the stratosphere meaning I can't learn any shouts, that's really aggravating.

And I think he was talking about Cliches and terrible writing Serious in regards to his pet hatreds.

Serious, look up RDR glitches or such on youtube.

What's the exact difference between bugs and glitches btw? Bugs being something that can be "recreated"? (ok, getting off topic maybe)

Having to go pixel-hunting an item lost to a glitchy fall-through-the-floor situation isn't fun, except if you are a masochist.

There have been GREAT glitches in the history of gaming, like the combo system in Street Fighter. But there's a barrier between good bad bugs and bad terrible bugs.

Another Pet Peeve of mine, completely terrible representation of how to do something.

*Walks through a crowd and gets surrounded by guards while attempting an assassination*

Assassin-"What the hell, how did you guys know I'm an assassin?"

Captain-"You're in a crowd of peasants in the middle of the day, dressed head to toe in black leather that is the uniform of X assassin group. As well you have a visible bow, a hood to cover your face, daggers, and a sword. Seriously what the hell were you thinking?"

    Assassin-"Well, I just assumed-"

Captain-"What? That we wouldn't noticed a guy dressed like he was a *** knife salesman? Take him away!"

    Assassin's Creed...Skyrim...

I don't mind mammoths falling out of the sky in Skyrim, nor the odd time when I've killed a dragon and it refuses to give me it's soul and just kind of lies there looking dumb but I draw the line at missing quest items, especially if you've had to fight your way past hordes of Dreugh Warlords.
