why do people get so mad?

go into profile section at top, and then there's a bit that says signature, put it in there then you have to turn your signature on in the options/preferences.

the masks are fine as is but they are way to easy to obtain, the weakest boss in the game gives you one of the most power ful helms.... my solution would be that pinwheel instead of fighting you summons a red phantom and binds it to his service with a mask, if the invader wins they get one mask (random) if the host wins, they get the right of kindling, thats it.

Like Old-Monk did? It gave him a buffer due to him being so easy

The Black and Silver Knight weapons are among the coolest looking, to my eye. Especially the BK Halberd and SK Sword. I have zero interest in Giant's or any of the masks, but only because I don't like the way they look.

actually reim bringing up the crown of dusk is a good example of why the masks are unbalanced. The dusk crown is still usefull and obviously used a lot.

Dusk Crown:Give 20% magic boost/30% loss of magic defense, doesnt have any defense as a helm.
Masks:+15% hp,Stamina regen,+15% equip load, doesnt have any defense as a helm

Why not have each mask have a slight downside? Maybe a downside that has to do with the other masks. Father adds equip load but reduces stamina regen. Mom adds hp, but reduces equip load. Child mask.....is child mask really op.....no

I personally have nothing against giants but when you see countless noobs wearing MOM it really grinds my gears.

i've actually suggested the same thing a while ago and i got neg repped lol i guess people really like those masks lol

The masks already have a downside.. You lose any kind of style or self respect, I think that loss is worth more than stats.

Mask of Father/Mother/Child, mostly F/M
Giants/Havels Armor
Giants/Havels Gauntlets
Giants/Havels Leggins

Weapons: Black Knight Greataxe, Zapphander +5, LightningClay +5
Shield: Grass Crest
Rings: Havels Ring, Dark Wood Grain Ring

And what really pisses me off, my GF ask what i play, i answer Dark Souls of course. And then she said:

And she´s right.....

Serious and rant - I use the MoM often in most of my builds. Do I lose any respect?

Ive also used mom on a few builds, it certainly ups my win ratio. I just refuse to wear the masks or giants,black iron, or havels in combination, and dwgr. I really like the wolf+rofap combo, if dwgr was not in the game that would be the most popular combo for sure. So many things they could have just left out of the game that would have made it better....

I am very curious as to what the creator of dark souls opinions are on these balancing/item/weapon "problems" a majority of the community complain about. I would love to see a video where he commentates while invading the kiln, hearing his reaction to getting ganked by 3 giants+moms with BKGAs and MLGSs would make my day.

Hating on MoM/DWGR/Giants armor for not being original makes as much sense as hating on people that Use the Claymore over Bastard Sword or BSS over broadsword. So yeah, anyone that uses a best-in-class weapon is a cheap, unoriginal noob.

Personally, I dislike people that use **** armor in place of Giants/MoM mask because they die so easy. I like to play against players that are trying their hardest to win, not people that want to look cool and gimp themselves doing so.

In the end, its just the same ol "its good so it should be banned" mindset that's so common in the souls communities.

So, for you, everyone must wear Giants armor and mask of mother to survive longer? Well, first, take a look at this video

Second, what if instead of Giants, everyone starts using Painting guardian set? Who shows up in PVP wearing Giant would not be taken as a good player and would be disrespected by everyone else?

You know I was goingto sya at 120 you cant have a full giants MoM build with a +15 buffed weapon, but then I decided to make sure of it - http://mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=4830371952427813. I am crying on the inside to how easy the DWGR + RoFaP + MoM makes this build. Still it looks ugly so Ill never use it.

Some people consider it scrub gear, but I don't think it is. I think weapon choice is a more accurate indicator of "scrubiness". All's fair though. It's super common, but for good reason.

However, when I run into a player with a really weird gear loadout, seems like the majority of the time they're the bomb. Nothing like getting completely reamed by a random to put you back in touch with reality.

I dont think its that personal for most of us. It has nothing to do with the person using the armor for me, its just the fact that its unbalanced. The reason the arguments always sound so weird is because its multiple things in combination that are unbalanced. If you look at just one of the items we are discussing then you cant really argue its THAT op, but its when you combine them that they become the top tier(by far). Those things are DWGR(the most unbalanced item in the game imo)Pinwheel Masks, and heavy armor. I dont mind people picking the best stuff, but there should be more variety of what "the best" is. Its boring as all hell when everyone has the same build(pretty much), and is the reason i think a lot of use are loosing interest in pvp.
