Claymore and Bastard Sword

I'm doing a SL5 run and my main weapon will be a +5 Longsword, but for some bosses and areas i'm going for a 2h greatsword, so the main thing i wish to know is, wich one is more effective for fast kills (not regarding the moveset), or simply: wich R1 swings faster?

I believe they both swing at the same speed. The difference between them (excluding movesets) is that the Bastard Sword does a little bit more damage and has a little bit less range than the Claymore. If it's just for PvE and killing bosses, I'd say go with the Bastard Sword for that little bit of extra damage and since most bosses you aren't trying to poke with melee attacks.

To my knowledge, swing speed is the same. Still prefer the Clay.

the bastard sword looks more bad*** too (for 1h i prefer the clay thou)

pve go bastard sword, doesnt really matter much, its just for that little extra damage the bastard has and it looks awesome.

In PvE, it's all about looking awesome. In PvP, it's all about looking awesome with 53 poise.
