1) The first one is a clunky mess which makes replaying it a chore.
2) Since replaying 1 is a pain in the back, I can't change anything from the Mass Effect 2 storyline. I guess it works from a business point of view.
3) Kaidan and Ashley were supposed to be interchangeable. Hence, their similar lines - if you make two characters to be mutually exclusive while sharing lines and a certain storyline importance, you are sacrificing individuality. Plus, between Williams and Alenko there was even no competition. Man, I think I miss Jenkins more than Alenko.
I don't care about all the "ORIGINAL ENDINGS SUCK!" thing. I liked the gameplay of 2 and 3, and the fact that Shepard was actually voiced.
Even so, the ending of 2 was herpy-derpy.
