not sure if this is common knowledge or not but havnt seen it pointed out anywhere. the area near the opening of the gamescom trailer is the building Alvina is located in in regular game.

Is it true Artorias is not the final boss? If so, that leads me to believe there are much higher powers playing him for a fool.

That is correct, the bosses we know of so far are Sanctuary Guardian and Artorias, but there is a final boss aside from them. Most speculation seems to point to the Darklurker as the last one.

Artorias is definitely in league with someone from the Abyss (probably Kaathe), but I don't know if I'd say he is being played, necessarily. He could have found out something down there that flipped him to fight against Gwyn. You could be right, though, as we aren't sure if Kaathe or whoever running that show has the best intentions, either.

When you get some info about Ciaran be sure to let me know! I would be more than greatful.

Also, the shades are called "Darklurkers" themselves. The dragon is Black Dragon Kalameet.

I don't care, there is a spoiler warning in the title. What I want to do here is aggregate all the details, especially descriptions, so the wiki editors actually have an easier time making the pages and so the lore hunters have it all in one place to feed their speculation. Do it up!

So the Manus he is the last boss (aka dark lurker). He is the primeval human he was once human but was tranformed when his humanity went wild (don't ask me that is what his soul drop says).

Those humanity sprites you see at the Chasm of Abyss are actually incomplete versions of humans. There is not a single human being in DLC except Marvelous Chester who states that he is also trapped in the world he doesn't belong (he also shares info about the next souls game says someone, but I'm not 100% sure about this.)
Ciaran and Artorias are lovers.

That Chester guy sounds veeeery interesting...And the Darklurker is the first human, wow, would never have seen that coming. So basically what happened to him was the same thing that was happening to Artorias, I guess?

I'm going to google some of these soul, etc. descriptions since I haven't gotten there yet, but if anyone runs across a screen of them, please let me know.

Sanctuary guardian:

-first boss
- drops the tail: sanctuary guardian tail (poison whip)

Artorias:

- second boss
- drops: soul of Artorias (can be either to Ciaran to get her weapons or made to a new weapon Abyss sowrd)

Ciaran:

- Appears on Artorias's grave after you kill him. You can give artorias souls to her to gain her weapons.
- When attacked Ciaran is suprisingly challenging (using Loydds talisman in fight and dodging pretty good)
- You get her armor after killing her

Kalameet:

- optional boss
- drops: a ring that makes you take DOUBLE dmg (weird) taildrop is Obsidial fgreatsword that has R2 attack of 360 area attack)
. more notes: you better talk to Gough after you lose to him once since Gough shoots him down from the sky activating easier fight.

Manus the father of Abyss:

I'm sorry, I have no video material on everything :/ if you want to catch spoilers go to twitch.tv and find dark souls prepare to die stream and you'll know everything in no time (I apologise for the typos I'm quite drunk atm).

Some more confirmed stuff:

- You can summon baby Sif against the last boss
- Gough armor is obtainable (looks retarted though)
- Greatsword speeds are nerfed

If you save Sif in the Chasm of abyss and meet him after that he remembers you and this leads to new cutscene before Sif fight

Yeah juutas, i saw someone using a claymore and it did look really slow.

God... that scene would make me cry if I had to kill him. I just couldn't do it.
