    Might have something to do with the supposed addition (buff?) of shield deflection in pvp. I saw a pvp vid where someone using a spear had it recoil after it hit a shield. If it's true, and I'm hoping it is, spears will be A LOT less annoying now.

    I'm not happy. Mainly because I don't know if this applied to Rapiers. If they just bounce off of shields when you attack, what can rapiers do?

    Yeah, that's fantastic. A rapier is now completely critical hit weapon that's critical damage can be surpassed by other larger STR weapons that got buffs. Woo hoo.

    I hope it doesn't apply to rapiers. Except that poke behind the shield crap. That stuff is just stupid. I think that would be an acceptable nerf.

    I never said I couldn't do anything about spears, I said when I mid roll I can't do anything about spears. If I'm fast rolling I can pressure them into screwing up a lot of the time, but it doesn't work on the better players.

    If deflection is in pvp now, thats a big +. As for rapiers, they really should deflect as well, just not as easily/strongly.

    I'm still annoyed if rapiers get the deflection nerf. I mean seriously, a nerf to rapiers? The only thing that should get deflected is the hide behind shield poke.

    Don't forget, I'm sure it will depend on the shield, and the weapon, perhaps your STR and your two handing it. Sure a 10/40 Rapier may stagger on a greatshield, but no on a 30/30 on a medium. More testing must be done.

    Yeah I agree with that. If rapiers end up being able to be deflected, it should only happen if it's a shield poke because those are *** annoying. Rapiers already had their critical damage nerfed so I don't think they should be weakened any further.

    No, it's just speculation really. Spears and rapiers are both somewhat similar, so rapier may get the same nerf.

    You already can attack and block at the same time, get a serious crit bonus, are super light weight, are difficult to parry, have the single most frustrating running attack in game, and can be buffed for completely bonkers damage considering the weight and speed of your weapon. You'll survive deflection, you must simply attack smarter.

    How you'll feel if rapiers have deflection, thats how I felt every time a claymore interrupted my swing or I got roll bsd.

    If hyper armor is true, then claymores won't interrupt your swing anymore. And when is the optimal time to attack for rapiers? When someone just puts up their shield 90% of the fight you know you're screwed. Heavy-weight weapons now have the advantage of hyper armor. The only thing rapier users can do now is parry and BS, which also got nerfs. They lose out to many light-weight weapons now unless those got deflection nerfs as well. Sure Rapiers do great damage with buffs but what happens when they run out?
    Of course, the rapiers may not be getting the nerf which would make everything I said pointless.

    Many, many people fight with their weapon in both hands, which doesn't deflect. Rapiers will decimate them, and with the beiber ring nerf, rapiers would have better roll bsing ability, and a mid/light setup would still allow the hornets ring to be used with the beiber ring, where other weapons don't have access to it without end gouging or sacrificing all armor, or both.

    I can't honestly say I see rapiers being usless at all, just easier to punish. Its inccredibly difficult to punish one now (for me anyways, but I dare say I'm fairly good at the game), so making them punishable is a good thing.

    Turtling is an annoying tactic and it should be nerfed to oblivion. Then again it can be deflected by a shield now so whatever.

    They are balancing the whole PvP experience and I think us veterans wouldn't be bothered by these changes, in some cases a dream come true for skillful/experienced players. Things are getting more difficult for the new players who rely on easy mode methods of fighting.
