Holy crap Pursuers! [Spoilers]

Does anyone know the timing at which you dodge these things? They just keep on coming and explode, taking off more than half of my health. Blocking them with crest shield and max stamina has no benefit, they explode and take off half of my health regardless.

I've tried DWGR dodging to the right (away from them) to the left (into them), at the last second just before they hit, and I get stunlocked by the explosion anyways. It seems that the blast even goes through pillars and has a huge explosion radius.

Latey I've just resorted to backstabbing the guy while he's casting them. Does anyone have any helpful videos on evading them?

Don't have PTDE but I can tell you that Pursuers is supposed to be like the 4 Kings homing attack, it will keep coming and keep coming until it hits you.

Crest Shield is worthless because the Dark Sorceries do physical, not magic, damage.

My advice: Try using the Silver Pendant.

I heard from another forum that silver pendant does jack, it only momentarily pauses them. Apparently once you finish the snazzy silver pendant animation they immediately crash into you for maximum damage.

Didn't know that. Would be awesome for my Intelligence builds if that were true, though.

Run away. Not from the whole fight but you can run in circles to avoid them.

But if you're just running around like a headless chicken for all that time, won't that just leave you vulnerable to the MLGS's special attack?

Yes. You would be vulnerable to any attack from them. But if you're good at it then they shouldn't be able to hit you. IIRC people have also avoided them just by strafing.
You can just keep close to them after the first one and BS them when they try to cast another one.

I've started bsing again because pursuers is getting way too annoying, lol.

But back on xbox when I bsed at all, I'd always get a flood of angry messages of people screaming at me for 'using cheap tactics', 'being a f*king scrub', 'you suck' and many other colorful things besides.

I'd roll through fireball/soul arrow/soul spears/missed jump attacks during invasions and BS punish people, and they'd start screaming at me on chat for being a 'd*ckhole who should just go and die'. As such, I thought bsing was generally outlawed by the pvp community, regardless of rings, weapons used, and the context it was used in (punishing, etc). You mean this is not the case?

Pursuers is the #1 spell that changed PvP as we know it.

It's absurd.

Can't you just unlock and run away?
Also, has anyone ever tried using Force with the Ring of Sun's Princess to manipulate the Pursuers?

^ I did, but it still followed me and exploded on the pillar behind me, hitting me for massive damage.

I dunno, the Xbox community seems to be very vocal. Especially the ganks, they make the most noise.

In case you don't know, the Silver Pendant does exactly the same Force does to spells except it only does it to Dark Sorceries. And yes, it's useless against pursuers, because instead of reflecting them, the pursuers keep following you, so you're just "pushing" them away for the duration of the animation, but when it ends, the pursuers while keep following you.

Also they are not like 4 Kings' homing attack. And also I want to remark that that attack (4 kings') does end and it's not eternal until it hits you.

Yes best option is to try to dodge it, unlock, and dodge diagonally to the left of your opponent. But here is an advice: don't stop dodging, most people cast another spell of direct-projectile type like Soul Spear, so if you stop moving for 1 sec, the Soul Spear will hit you, stun you, with enough time for the pursuers to hit and kill you too, this is a stunlock. And in my opinion it's unbalanced.

Don't use silver pendant against pursuers, because if you do so, besides it won't help because it won't reflect them, just keep them away for a short period of time, while you cast it the guy will put a Soul Spear through your ***.

Against Magic users who use this trick, best thing to do is dodge and stay close and don't leave them a chance for casting and/or BSing them.

Yeah that magic is nuts, backstab them all the way. They want to cast a spell for 'free' punish them for standing there.

Jeez..I'm excited for the Dlc, but based on everyone's comments about Persuers, I'm scared as hell to find these dudes lol.

With this spell, I am oneshotting practically everyone who invades. And I don't even have the bellowing dragoncrest ring on. The only time I see them dodge (which was twice), it looked like they were able to due to latency issue because they teleported rather than rolling normally.

It is just... lolbroken.

Nope, I suppose it could work though since you can parry WOTG. But they tend to hit in succession, and they explode on impact, so from a solely deductive standpoint, even if you parry the first hit you'll probably get hit by the following ones or the explosions.

I heard that you could roll through them and they'd crash into the ground. I have no clue if it works because my PC sucks.

Have you tried Ring of Fog? I heard that Soulmasses don't shoot if you have RoF, maybe it applies for Pursuers too?

i've heard that the pursuers die if you strike the caster... anyone got confimation on this? also wouldn't iron flesh be useful against it?

Dear God that sounds cheap. I would try to tank them with a high stability shield, unlocked and facing the pursuers rather than the caster. If I was a mage build I would do some CSS punishment while they were casting.

I just got lagshotted by an invader also using pursuers- the orbs didn't move, but I got hit by one somehow, stunlocked and then suddenly all my hp vanished! And then the orbs fired at me.

Also, in a recent discovery it seems that spamming the silver pendant does work. But it leaves you horribly open to other offenses.

VoS is now staple lol! just kidding, but imagine the implications.
