Tales of Jolly co-operation!

As the name implies, i'd like to hear some stories of jolly co-operation. i will share one of my own to get us started, as i don't have many that made me feel as good as this. mind you, i am not a sunbro, i just wanted some extra souls/humanity after getting killed by lautrec a few times, so as to level and get WoTG

i left my summon sign in front of ornstein and smough's room. i know thats not recommended, but i'd had a large amount of people who went and got themselves killed from the bonfire to the door. i got sick of dealing with said people, and placed my sign in front of the O&S room. the person to summon me bowed, i bowed, and we proceeded into the room, just the 2 of us. while he fought ornstein, i held smough at bay. after ornstein had died, we spent a while killing smough, but it wasn't very difficult (well for him, it was for me because i have no ranged attacks, so i used throwing knives) after i'd run out of ranged, we used hit and run tactics and eventually got him down.

after the fight, he sent me a message over x-box live and said "Thank you! i was on my last humanity, after spending approximately 10-30(can't remember exact number) summoning brolaire!. this made me feel very good, having helped someone so utterly run-down.

well, thats my tale. why not spin me a yarn yourselves folks?

Yesterday while using my full Solaire's set character I get summoned at the bottom of the Anor londo elevator, right into a fight between a DW and a noob host who is frantically backpedalling towards me while hiding behind an eagle shield. The host runs over and hides behind me, the DW takes a look at my golden sunbroy awesomeness, and then -- prostrates himself, and hurls himself off the walkway to his death. Then I get a Pm from the host: "Holy sh*t!" Solaire: it's good for what ails ya.

My favorite moments have been the times I have been helping a noob beat down Havel. The ones that are most triumphant are when I get clobbered by him and as I am dying and returning to my own world I see the host backstabbing and killing the SOB. That feels awesome, better than just beating him and surviving actually, like I threw myself on a grenade.

Also dropping a fire Zwei +10 on a level 10 player and watching him freak out!

KIDDING!

But it is nice to drop a +3-5 shield/sword or 3 titanite shards on a new player. Give 'em that extra push.

My most memorable story happned whilst dueling in forest past sealed door. I was invaded by a forest covenant spirit and we bowed and we proceded to duel for about 5 minutes with no backstabs or healing. Then this DW guy showed up and ran straight between us spamming WotG's. We knew what we had to do and that was destory this guy. We spent another 10 mins chasing this guy around as he kept poping humanity and hiding round corners waiting to use fire storm. WE managed to corner the DW taking turns wailing on his shiled so we didn't kill each other. Once he was done we waved at each other for a bit and danced around for a while. Then the forest spirit bowed once more to me and walked off the edge of the cliff winning me the souls.

wow, now that deserves some respect wolly. actually cooperating with an enemy to kill a common foe. not many can successfully pull that off

That was this time when I was farming souls from the two NPCs in the Dark Anor Londo... I acidentally entered Anor Londo as human and just after defeating the NPCs I was invaded by a Darkmoon Blade. I immediatly ran for the upper part, near the Princess Chamber and took the elevator to the Chamber itself. The Invasor came just after me and I was able to damage him with my Grear Chaos Fireball (both the impact and the splash damage) and I thought I was gonna win... when suddenly another Darkmoon Blade invaded and engaged me in combat... I thought I was gonna lose to then, and ran to the stair in the entrance of the ornstein e smough room, and there I found one gold summon sign... man, that was the beatifullest thing I ever saw in life... From there, a golden spirit, wearing the Paladin Set (same as me) emerged with a spear and together we defeated the two invasor (one severely damaged by me in the begining).

Summoned onto the center circle of the bridge in New Londo to help with the Kings. The host, me, and another phantom. There's a Darkwraith at the other end of the bridge in full Channeler gear. All 3 of us just stand there for a while, nobody gestures or anything. Suddenly the Channeler charges us, either none of us had ranged or if we did we weren't bright enough to use it. When he reached us we just unloaded with spastic attacks all over the place, most of them missing him, but all the guy did was go into his Channeler dance.

After I'd absorbed the 'wtf just happened' feeling for a minute I got a message that said, "You didn't let me finish my dance."

It happened so long ago, but it's still my favorite moment.

i believe this thread has been inactive for long enough! come on round the bonfire and spin us a yarn once more weary travelers!

Hm, okay, in replay to your first post, that's exactly why i always help people, no matter what covenant i'm in.

As for stories, mine is not as happy as yours was, and it certainly isn't long. In fact, i posted it on one of the topics just a couple 'o days ago, still.

I had left my summon sign outside of the gate to where Sif is at. I was summoned, i jump off the cliff and die and get sent back home.

lol. not bad. i did something just as stupid, thought it wasn't during co-op. my controller freaked out and sent me off the edge of the bridge leading to the burgs bonfire. i lost 19 humanity and 20000 souls

I have a much similiar one. I'm sure someone else has experienced something like this...maybe.

I bow, like i always do, and the host bows ba-and i'm dead. Got backstabbed by a black phantom. Since that moment i've ALWAYS, and i mean ALWAYS been looking backwards before bowing to the host. ALWAYS.

Haha, yes, I always do a 360 degree camera spin while my phantom is spawning into their world. Even then you can get surprised. Had one in Anor Londo where the coast seemed clear, and then while I was bowing I ate an extremely long range DSB arrow from a DW up on the upper stairs platform. Funniest part was that the host had bowed first -- thanks for the warning, buddy.

I know this has happened to many and many have done this on pupose, but that will not stop me from sharing.

I was invading in the demon ruins (my first real attempt at being a DW) with my SL 170 and not surprisingly their was not much action. Finally I invade someones world. After luring their phantom into a bunch of the capra demons till he died I proceed to chase down the host. In the end he kills me. I continue to try to invade again for a few minutes, then decide why not try co-op. Get summoned almost immediately and of course it is the same person I invaded.

gotta hate those long range dudes. thats why i keep my back to a wall before bowing. as for your co op story bmurn, thats some pretty funny stuff. i'd say what are the odds, but at that level, its pretty high XD

*sits at campfire like i do in the "ignite" darksouls trailer* I spoes i have a few storys i can share with my weary fellow travelers.
Once upon a time when i was merely a sl 25 baby tarkus i was hanging out at the bell gargoyals church and being the npc idiot that i am. I decided to place my summon sign in a discrete place where no sane man would look. So i decided to kill the Chaneler and all the broken sworded zombies and placed my summon sign in the room in the corner where theres a corpse hanging on the balcony that has the "large soul of the undead"? I cant remember it was so long ago. So yeah nobodys gonna find me here hurr hurr . Lone behold 30 mins later i was summond by a young man with a drake sword. I looked at his sword and threw up on it and threw it off the balcony he summoned me at. He began to cry then i felt bad and gave him a +8 broad sword from back when i was also a nooby knight. Then he threw my gift to him off the balcony. Then i threw him off the balcony in rage. Then i failed my objective and was sent home. Moral of the story be grateful to what tarkus gives your or else (like bosses) your getting thrown off of s#!t.

I just had one of the best brwals ive ever had, at lvl 15 no less. I was reading on the char builds and one of them mentioned killing Luaretc when you first free him, as to get his ring. Normally i just kick him off the stairs at the bonfire lady. I had two white phatoms with me, after i smacked him enuf to piss him off I turn around and my summons are gone..... I ran to the open area where all the zombies and channlers where and proceeded to try and not die untill my summons got there. I had no idea how nasty luretc was this early. So for about 5mins im doing a pretty good impression of a ninja on crack, jumping and flipping all over the place and an invader comes and backstabs me ... So i raise use my last humanitty and summon two more, this time i wait for a sunbro. I get back to his cell with the sunbro on my tail ( i knew they wouldnt leave me) and drag him back to the other summon. Again its my flipping and dodging all over the place with the two summons trying to hit him on the run. Lauretec is one dedicated agressive SOB. He never got off me. Another invader comes, this time I never saw the invader so i assume the summons took care of him. After what felt like 15min Lauretc goes down! we all rejoice and proceed to the bell gargoyles with my one remaining flask. The 3 of us made short work of them muhahaha!

damn. thats quite a story lol. once again, gotta love the sunbro's. they are usually quite dedicated to the task of protecting you

Once I was in the Painted World and was summoned by someone. Of course we obviously get invaded as we try to uncover the many treasures that are hidden in the area.

I chase the invader to the bridge overlooking the blob guys. The invader cast fall control and jumps off the bridge. I run to where he jumped and fell on top of him. I lost about half my health, but so did the invader. Then I fought him while the host kept healing me, and eventually killed the guy.

This is a bit off topic. Once I got hatemail from someone I was helping. He said I was too good, or something moronic like that, and kicked me out.

I was not BB glitching. Also, I'm just starting to learn how to roll and parry, so I usually get owned by red phantoms.

I replied," if you don't want help, then don't summon someone".

perseverence is key i suppose XD and as for the second one, thats technically a tale of co-operation, or lack there-of in this case. guy was a bit of an *** if you ask me
