PvP burning you out? Try this (worked for me)

I've been dueling for a while. Everyone has their own sense of what is fair and what is cheap. "Rules" are getting more and more complicated and restrictive. It was burning me out. But, there is way more to PvP than dueling. Different mindsets. Different approaches.

Try invading. It is great. It is so different from organized duels; it is like a brand new way of fighting. It will broaden your horizons, your way of thinking. You'll see there is a whole new world out there.

It is a good quality build that is versatile. You can use a variety of elemental weapons (you'll have to 2H str weapons, but they're usually best 2H anyway). Pick what weapons and armor you want and go to town.

I get constant invasions at this SL virtually anywhere. Doing this really helped my burn out, and gave me a completely different perspective. There is much more to PvP than dueling.

I agree completely (though I do sl 80). I do believe the community could do well by returning to its roots for a little perspective.

It's not just invasions that can give you a change of pace. I invade a lot as a darkwraith. I tried Darkmoon for a while, and even Dragon duels. Gravelording while sometimes frustratingly convoluted and broken is refreshing in it's own way.

Like Forum I find sl80 to be a great spot to sit as you can invade pretty much any of the Lordvessel areas at a constant pace, and you have different venues to work with.

Don't forget jolly coop!!! Whenever I'm sick of dueling I get back to coop and it recharges my PvP batteries jn about a week. I like invading but I always feel bad invading newbies or pve'ers but I am the dirtiest gl you'll ever see though.

I always invade, but if the guy looks like he doesn't want to fight I feel bad and crystal out after dropping a humanity. I get a lot if thank you messages doing that lol

All great ideas. I haven't GLed or DMed in a while. Coop is awesome (maybe you'll run into one of us invaders). Forest isn't for everybody. Going straight from scripted rules during dueling straight to Forest hunting is liable to make you rip out your spleen and chuck it at the TV.

I often just use a sl 30 or so character, 16 str, 16 dex and 20 end/vit. You can take a few hits and you can wield most weapons. It lets you have some variety as opposed to being stuck with a build based off of one or two weapons/spells.

one of the reason i like coop'ing so much is because of the invasions invaders give you a good fight for the most part, invadees on the other hand tend to not be as good, and when you coop for some reason the host gets invaded A LOT, about two secs after you kill an invader another invades, it keeps things interisting and a lot more fun.

Basically an ad for the Darkstalkers, Reim? I'm working on a SL 55 right now, designed to maximize Pyro Damage with the Dusk Crown, BDC ring, Power Within, and perhaps even RtsR. I also use the Lightning Scythe, as a replacement BKH (no way I'd have the stats for it at 55). I run into plenty of dishonor in the Burg while trying to duel, and return it with equally dishonorable tactics, so it's not like you can even isolate yourself from it as a duelist.

Not an intentional plug for the Dalkstalkers. It is just what I'm using, so I can relate my experience and stat suggestions for people who haven't PvPed at that level before.

I'm going back to invading exclusively until the DLC comes out. I'm at a point where I have no desire to play the game if I'm dueling. It's boring. So I'm gonna fart around with dual Darkhands for a while and other fun loadouts.

I haven't been able to play for a few weeks, so I'm dueling a lot now to get my skills back.

im actually a huge carebear when i'm not dueling.

you can find me helping people kill bosses and helping people make pve builds pretty often... and it's fun.

2-3 people taking on ng+? bosses. feels like im playing warcrack or something.

I do like co-op too, I usually cosplay while I'm doing it, usually as Solaire or Siegmeyer.

I have actually never done co-op. Better than invasions?

i say better because you get invaded a lot and a lot of the invaders are pretty good but thats just me and i also only cosplay when i coop, mostly with my leeroy build.

I think I might cosplay a bit... as Batman.

Nah. That's not really in keeping with the bat's style, I think. The Cestus doesn't even look like a weapon. As far as you can tell, he's just punching you in the face with his fists. I don't want some big clunky sh*t on my hands while I'm doing that.
