Dragon Great Axe, and buffs.

I noticed this weapon has been buffed, so i'm thinking of using it on my level 666 character when i play through the new content, buffing it up, and going on a wrecking ball route using it's special attack...

The special attack, is it improved by buffs, or will only my actual hits matter?

I can tell you that the dragon roar buffs the special attack.

how bout weapon buffs? I can actually buff this weapon XD

Why did it even need a buff? It was already plenty powerful and was one of the few dragon weapons which could be buffed.

The buff also applies to the special attack (the shockwave). You can do a -lot- of damage if you buff it.

So much I'm still learning about this game! Why is none of this in the wiki?!

The wiki says that it's buffable. But it doesn't tell you that it's r2 attack gets a boost as well.

I've almost been oneshotted by a dude in the Burg who buffed it with DMB and hit the R2. It's serious sh*t.

yea i am pretty sure the buff applies to special attack, because it was confirmed that if you apply Toxic resin to the new Obsidian sword, the huge AOE does poison damage. pretty sick

I once parried a guy with a buffed DKGA when he tried to do the special.
After that i got **** and tried to parry everyone using it. I almost die every time i miss a parry

I usually don't try to full parry it, but I'm pretty good now at partial parries on things like WoG or the R2, I even catch some CSS with partials.

I'd pay good souls to see the guys face when his DKGA R2 got parried though. :shock: is as close as emoticons can get I think

Actually i am 99% sure i am the first person to ever be parried while doing that. On x-box i fought against a guy that was INSANELY good at parrying a week or two after the game released, and he parried litterally everything i ever did with his fist. for a long time i felt parries were OP because of him.

I ran into a forest host who buffed it with CMW and PW and used the R2. He oneshotted quite a few hunters who came to kill him, never got me though, I'm smart enough to stay away from that.

I had a guy who kept cornering me on the bridge in the PW. He would hide behind his shield then R2 with the dragon great axe. Finally I parried him after the 20 or 30th time I invaded him (apparently we were the only people online... smh) and he sent me the worst message after that. He then switched to wog and gc whilst hiding behind his shield. After the second round of that I just got off for the night.
