Top Tier Builds?

Yeah, people, it has been a YEAR! We have all gone through most builds, using BB or something else. Isn't it time we debated which is actually the best builds in PVP?

Oh, and:

Quality - A term from Demon Souls meaning equal scaling in both STR and DEX. When used in builds it means a build that mixed both STR and DEX with sacrifice to VIT and/or END.
Spellsword - A term referring to a build that mixes melee and magic combat potential equally. Spellswords usually complete the build by having a buff of choice.
Glass Cannon - Refers to frail, yet heavy hitting builds. The characteristics are usually low HP, but a tremendous amount of buffs.
Hyper Mode - A term from Demon Souls referring to extreme glass cannon builds thate the near-death buffs to maximize damage potential. This video demonstrates, but Hyper Mode can vary

Faith is powerful so it gets my vote.

I'll vote for a Dex-Faith hybrid, buffing a dex weapon with DMB or SLB. Not my favorite thing to run, but it's probably the most likely to get you kills in this game. With the DLC though, Dark magic-Dex hybrids are stupidly effective. However, it all depends on what you want to do with your build. For invasions, Hyper Mode and Glass Cannon builds reign supreme. For dueling, sometimes a vit/end gouge can give one the edge, though there are a lot of different ways to be perfectly viable. Also, the player's skill and actually liking what you play as in terms of armor setup/weapons is much more important than the build. I win more often with my 40/40 than I do with my DMB build because I have more fun with my 40/40 and actually like what I'm doing.

i would say str but everyone is gonna be like theyre so easy to bs blah blah blah, i would say wuality build, since its the build that i rarely lose with.

I would go with Quality, specially Mura Builds variations! It's my bet for coming back to DkS

Str:28 when 2Hed gets to the cap bonus, so it's amazing for spearmen too! Not to mention the stupid damage with composite bow and large arrows!! :3 (presuming you got Dex:40)

I voted Hypermode. It takes perhaps the most skill to use, but if paired with that skill it can wreck.

You ever get backstabbed by a +5 Crystal Bandits Knife covered in Crystal Magic Weapon, hopped up on a Hornet Ring/Red Tearstone Ring combo, and high off a fresh Power Within? Yea I want change my vote to Hypermode.

Gonna have to go with Faith-Dex hybrids.

Dex Pyro, so much flexibility and power in one package.

Not to mention it's just a barrel of monkeys to use.

It really depends on who is using the build. Technically a str build with hornets would be best lol.

STR,Because From dislikes STR weapons,so it kinda feels like a challenge

if 28/40 STR/DEX counts as a quality build, then i vote for quality. add some pyromancy, and you can do pretty much anything you want.

40/50 DEX/FTH build is a very close second.

Well with the addition of dark magic(dark bead in particular) mages are a force to be reckon with now. Especially depending on what area you are in, pursuers+dark bead in areas like the burg and oolacile township entrance are both heaven for mages. I don't even bother pvping in oolacile township anymore, i literally got 20 matches in a row of just mages casting pursuers+dark bead. My only issue with those spells, is not the good damage, the amazing hit box/tracking, but how on top of that it drains your stamina/breaks your guard. The guard break element of the dark magic, and black flame, was taking it just a little too far imo.

The dex/pyros are the most annoying ones (when everything else fails, just start popping dem GC herp derp).

It's never gonna be top tier, STR Weapons are slow they are easily parried,can be backstabbed,etc,etc


BTW I am not talking about GS,but almost never seen STR Weapons : Demons Great Axe (FOR EXAMPLE) I almost never see it

Top tier has to be a well balanced and efficient build with minimal or no weak points. Which means class cannons, or other builds with low VIT can't be top tier. Something like defensive stats being low would be a minimal weak point that doesn't effect how the build performs. Low VIT, to the point where your foes can 1hko you is a severe weak point and makes the build sub-par.

And STR weapons are fine, they just aren't as noob friendly as some other weapons. I used weapons like Dragon Bone Smasher, and Meat Clever from Demon's Souls, so I know how to properly use these kinds of heavy weapons. You need to learn how to use spacing and reach to your advantage, and of course you do a crap ton of backstab/riposte damage.

And elemental weapons, even after the nerfs are still fine. A VIT gauge pyro is still a top tier build. They just aren't God tier anymore.

Any build that uses wog, gmb, spear is unbeatable.

Learn how to roll-BS those wog spammers, and then they aren't such of a problem. Even if I can't position a roll-BS, I've learned how to roll through WOGs. The hit frames for wog are the initial blast after it charges up and if you are in the invincibility frames of the roll during those few hit frames, then you avoid the damage.
