    Are you getting it?

I'm really into Disgaea 4 right now, will have to delay getting Ni No Kuni. I'll probably get it after I'm done with Disgaea.

Pardon my manner of questioning, but what's so good about the game that half this forum is pining for it? :?:

I think its mostly me lol level five are good at making games and the whole thing with the summons reminds me of jade coccoon (one of the best games ever the noone's heard of) and the artwork was made by studio ghibli.
@blaine I will, but I'm still jn decided between the phys copy or the dl. I will make up my mind tonight and get it tomorrow morning, its gonna be awesome.

I know the art is from Ghibli, I'm just wondering what exactly it is that makes this game so desirable. I'm in the market for a good JRPG and this seems to be the one, but I don't want to get something others love that I won't like.

For me, there's two main reasons why I'm interested in the game:

    - Studio Ghibli (if you don't know their movies, definitely check them out)

    - The fact that it's one of the only good JRPGs to have been released on PS3! Seriously, I've been waiting for a JRPG for so long, I kind of gave up for a while.

all the reviews have been really positive, not that i care, i just look at vids and rent games, if i really like it i will buy it and if its good but short(like gow) i will just beat it once and never play it again. ni no kuni is different though, its hard to explain but i just know its gonna be good, the whole talent around the game just couldnt F it up. level five have been consistent with their games, while not great they have been enjoyable and it feel like this is their masterpiece.

Turn based battle and random encounters turn me off. I'll buy it and play it, but the JRPG genre has moved past these conventions and they don't deserve to be put in a game. They were easy ways to save expense and compensate for ancient tech 20 years ago. Other than that the game looks great.

I've also downloaded the demo and I must say that I'm suprised.
I knew it will be good, but not this good!
Ni no Kuni is exactly like the old JRPGs, that I love so much.
    Insta pre-order. happy
But I couldn't get my hands on the Collector's Edition. I would love to have the book, I think it will be handy when playing the game.

@ghadis its oldschool amd the japanese are known for that, the "new" ff's that have tried to do something different sucked. Elder scroll is the most outdated piece of crap and everyone loves it, don't know how to explain that.
@sentinel I really wanted the wizard edition too, :dung: .

Modern Turn-based games are still loads of fun and definitely have their place in modern gaming. Ask anyone who is a Shin Megami Tensei or Fire Emblem fan. SMT: Devil Survivor 1 and 2 (both true turn based games) were very good and both have been within the past few years. They aren't for everyone (turn-based strategy games) but they still have a healthy following and people still love them. Fire Emblem: Awakening seems awesome. I played the demo last week and immediately pre-ordered it. They have just announced a SMT/Fire Emblem crossover as well.

As far as Ni No Kuni is concerned, I think it is brilliant. They have moved beyond the Pokemon style of combat (which I have never really liked) and haved updated the familiars to real-time combat. I loved the demo and just got my game yesterday so I will be diving in this weekend.

I had a chance to order the wizards edition last week when they opened the orders back up. I couldn't justify the extra $40 at the time. Boy was I wrong. They are selling on Ebay for $275-$300 right now :affraid:

I am hoping for an Oct release of DkS 2 which will essentially put off me buying a Next Gen system for about 2 1/5 years:) I just shelled out for the Wii U for my kids is you consider that next-gen, but it is pretty much current gen. Nintendo still has the best kid and family friendly games though so it had to be done.

I agree on the sales. It seems to be selling well right now. BTW Rant, get Baldur's Gate EE so we can play through it together. I am going to start rolling my character tonight.

so after a slow start im about 6 hours into the game and i gotta say, i like it alot. th first three hours is all about setting up the story and getting your items which is a little boring but it picks up right away. i like the battle ystem, defending actually works and the further youre from enemies the more likely theyre to miss or not attack you at all but they will chase you. i like that there' hidden items and locations on the world map, so far ive found a hidden village(it was more of a hut actually) on the north/east part of ding dong dell and some items, remember to press x everywhere lol its what im doing. what are youre thought guys?
