by what no enemies from VIII or X? I'm almost gutted! though in fairness lots of monsters are rehashes like malboro and behemoth especially

I think behemoth is in the game actually. Most popular monsters are in fact, but they've mainly focused on those games since they're all stylistically and artistically similar to each other.
Oh and for Souls fans you may recognise this enemy being introduced in ARR.

According to Final Fantasy wiki they've appeared in 6 previous Final Fantasy titles including the first game. It's odd I never remembered them. haha

OH i recognise it as the draken- that thing thing was such a bastard in FFIX
not surprised i never saw flayer in XII, i never bothered with the mark hunting thing, wasn't that fun for me

yeah the draken caused me a lot of grief in IX, I played the whole game pretty underlevelled and relying on the learned skills I had on characters, so they decimated me if I didn't kill them before they used mind crush or whatever the attack was called :razz:

Yeah beta phase 3 (I think) and 4 characters will get imported to the full game.
As long as you use the same account for both the beta and the release of course.
EDIT: Also if you get the full game you will get another chance to edit (gender/ appearance/ race/starting class/starting city e.t.c) your character before you start the game proper.
