I attended 10 schools, private and public, from kindergarten through 12th grade in Texas and Kansas, then attended a junior college followed by a university. I've literally never heard of a student having to turn in homework, then the teacher marking what was wrong, then the student having to redo it until they got it right.

Yeah, most teachers just tell you you whats wrong and then give you a grade. I've rarely been given a chance to redo an assignment, unless it's a test and everybody screwed up. If you flunk a grade/class then you do have to repeat the whole year/semester though, so there's that.

Not really, because I can't see how they could make it work. I think they would be better concentrating on helping new players understand the game mechanics better at the start of the game than offering an easier difficulty.

Some schools believe students can't learn until they have been "broken". Unfortunately the elementry school I went to was one of them. They also did things that were way worse then make us redo homework.

Luckly the Hight School I went to was the opposite.

I never saw Saw. I heard it was about US citizens torturing foreigners that were mistaken as terrorist. That made me not want to see it.

We were referencing Stay Alive, where if you died in game, something came out of it to kill you in real life.

Search an anime called "Sword Art Online" It follows the "die in game die in real life" theme.

.hack did that long before SOA did, though they more often went into comas than died. They're both pretty cool (until they basically change the genre they're playing in entirely)

Was there really any doubt how this poll would end up?

I'd rather have a normal "mode" for the first play through, and then scaling difficulty (NG+), much like Dark Souls.

It just wouldn't feel the same after you've killed the Capra Demon for the first time ever if itwas easier

I think easy mode would be fine as long as it was limited. Some weapons and items not available, trophies/achievements are disabled in easy mode, you can be invaded but you can't summon. No option for NG+. Once you finish an easy mode game, you can't use your save anymore.

Something people could train on, but would clearly not be a complete experience.

I don't think the DkSII needs an easy mode, but if it has one it's the player's choice whether or not use it. If they choose to make the game less rewarding for them, I don't want it to hinder me. As long as that's the case, I'm good.

Experiences should be earned, the player isn't entitled to the entire game, only the ability to access it. I have to play through the entire game if I want to face the final bopss. They'd have to play through normal mode to get access to all the content. I know of some games where the difficulty dictates how far your allowed to progress.

And they would not know that they have not had the "complete experience" until they then replay the game on normal and get to experience alot more new things, thus making it a fresh playthough with more things to explore then just a copy and paste of the exact same adventure that NG+ is for everyone else.

No its not like people are asking to be able to beat the game in a couple of sword strokes either, if it takes a person 2-3 tries on easy mode to beat a boss, they will still get the same feeling as a "better" gamer who beats the same boss after 2-3 tries on normal mode.

If you are worried about the "better" gamers playing on easy mode and finding it to easy and getting bored, why are they not playing the normal mode?
