Best Strength Weapon

EpicNameBro has just started a new souls series about strength weapons..... And on his second video, he is already including quality and Dex weapons simply because they are large or because they "look like strength weapons".

Examples: Cestus, Pike, Bastard Sword, Claymore.


I know he's supposed to be one of the gods of the Souls series, but my eyes are starting to pop out of my head here.

im gonna go out on a limb and guess he's gonna go with greatclub lol. there's no best but i would go with DGM since it's my favorite.

Probably butchers knife as he did the fat roll playthrough with it.

For now he's just gathering the weapons and figured he'd pick up everything. I doubt he'll include those quality/dex weapons in his final comparison.

I'll wait for Wyrm to chime in a base my decisions on whatever it is he says regarding the matter.

Wyrm = strength pro.

Manserpent Greatsword

I think MSGS will win if you just to the damage test he was doing on the DEX video.

But movesets, backstabs. and all that jazz... if he happens to test Leo with the greatsword that may very well win just for the 2HR2

I'm not certain it will qualify as a str weapon and not a quality one but if it is I think the Zwei with it's versatil for a greatsword moveset will likely win

Don't you think the Black Knight Greataxe has a shot at winning this?

Depends how you want to play. The Great/Large clubs along with the C/D UGS like Zwei/GS are the best for fast roll because of the roll r1 and their relative weight, but otherwise I think the DGM is one of the better Str weapons overall. The MSGS does with Str what other GS do with Q, and I wouldn't count the BK weapons because they have an 18 Dex requirement. ENB doesn't talk about PvP that often though because he doesn't do much of it, he's not as much of an authority as some might think.

No. While I love the BKGA personally and tenderly it's moveset is bound to R1s limiting it, it's AR doesn't get so far out of hand compared to other STR weapons (no real advantage there) and it's special snowflake poise damage doesn't help. My money is on one of the more versatile movesets winning, and in a DPS race at 40 STR most str weapons are going to be so close to each other it's a non issue

See I don't think choosing a best weapon is even possible, because even with the 'best' weapon in the game, you'll die if you don't know how to use it. If you know the ropes, you can kill someone in PVP with your bare fists.

the best strength weapon have got to be either the manserpent greatsword or the zwei, other weapons will do more damage but their movesets are so much better.

zwei - easy to get, easy to use, has a really useful r2 and who doesn't like smashing their enemies into the dirt like a tent peg?

manserpent gs - it's light for a str weapon and that overhead r2 is fast and hits hard.

demon machete - hits like a truck but its only good attack is the r1 or the roll poke which requires fast roll and this weapon is heavy so say good bye to your armour.

great axe - hits hard and is deceptively fast, good stun and guard break but it has short range (too short really).

demon great axe - don't have any experience with this weapon at all.

great club - the only good attack is the rolling poke, and like the demon machete, say goodbye to your armour because you will need that fast roll.

reinforced club - infinite stun lock and bleed, awesome. low damage and short range, ugh.

great sword - doesn't live up to its name, but Tarkus likes it so it must be pretty good because TARKUS!

and that's about all i got.

Not the best I suppose, but for me the most fun to use; Butcher Knife (has A at +14, so that's not too bad). And it just has a cool look and nice moveset.

Epic Namebro is far too narrow minded when selecting what is the "best" weapon. I saw that when he declared the great scythe as best dex.

The best strength weapon depends on what you're looking for,
DPS? Go with the Reinforced Club.
Damage per hit? Grant, Demons Machete, and Demons Greataxe top the charts. Swing them once and you'll never disagree again.

Versatility? The Flamberge is genuinely the best Dex weapon, but it sounds like he might go "LOL IT LOOKS LIKE A STRENGTH LETS INCLUDE IT!" If he doesn't, I anticipate he'd call the Greatsword or Zwei most potent.

Weight? Is he even thinking of weight?

He was spot on in his dex weapon video. The problem with the strength video is that ENB does not use strength weapons, and that he lives in japan (meaning he can't connect to other players because nobody in japan uses a pc for gaming). ENB is a pure PvE player who uses (almost exclusively) dexterity builds.

How much Dex leeway is allowed here? Some weapons are mostly strength based but have a small dex requirement, like many of the BK Weapons.

Highest he should need is 18 dexterity, to wield the black knight weapons.
